Performance and Throughput

The MAX Transit Duo Pro achieves a router throughput of 1 Gbit/s, providing a stable foundation even in bandwidth-intensive scenarios. The two CAT-12 cellular modems deliver a combined downlink rate of up to 600 Mbit/s and 150 Mbit/s uplink. SpeedFusion VPN reaches 400 Mbit/s without encryption and still 200 Mbit/s with 256-bit AES—enough to securely link multiple sites. Intelligent load balancing distributes traffic according to configurable algorithms such as Weighted Balance, Priority, Overflow, Persistence, Least Used, Lowest Latency, Enforced, and Fastest Response Time. Advanced QoS allows individual bandwidth limits and prioritizes applications like SIP, HTTPS, or custom services.

Design and Power Supply

The compact housing (160 x 97 x 33.5 mm, 730 g) is designed for rugged use in vehicle and rail applications. Power can be supplied via the 12–56-V-DC power port, two USB-C inputs (20 V, 3 A), or the terminal block—all with ignition detection for intelligent power management. An operating temperature range of -40 °C to +65 °C and humidity tolerance of 15% to 95% (non-condensing) make the device extremely robust. Compliance with EN61373 (shock and vibration resistance) and EN50155 (railway applications) underscores its suitability for mobile environments.

Security and VPN

SpeedFusion VPN forms the backbone of secure networking: Hot Failover, WAN Smoothing, and Bandwidth Bonding ensure uninterrupted connections, while 256-bit AES encryption and pre-shared key authentication protect traffic. Additional features include IPsec (Network-to-Network), PPTP VPN server, and RADIUS and LDAP authentication. The integrated stateful firewall, DoS prevention, and web blocking protect the local network, while WPA2 encryption secures wireless communication.

Management and Use Cases

The MAX Transit Duo Pro integrates seamlessly into fleet management solutions: the built-in GPS module provides location data that can be tracked in real time with InControl 2 and used for fleet management. The integrated AP controller enables centralized management of Wi-Fi access points and provides usage statistics. Edge computing capabilities with Docker and Python allow the execution of custom applications directly on the router. An RS232-compatible serial port, VLAN support on the LAN side, DHCP server with advanced options, and NAT and port forwarding rules round out the comprehensive feature set.
