The D-Link DIS-100G-5PSW is an unmanaged Gigabit PoE switch for DIN-rail mounting, delivering up to 120 W of PoE budget (depending on the power supply used) across four IEEE 802.3af/at ports. That lets it power surveillance cameras, Wi-Fi access points and other PoE devices directly over the network cable - a strong fit for smart-city surveillance networks, factory automation and outdoor wireless infrastructure. UL Class I Division 2 approval also makes it relevant for hazardous-location process-industry deployments, and the SFP port adds a fiber uplink back to the control room alongside the copper ports.

Technical Overview

All four copper ports support PoE under IEEE 802.3af/at, with a total PoE budget of up to 120 W depending on the connected power supply. Switching capacity (10 Gbps), forwarding rate (7.44 Mpps), store-and-forward processing, a MAC address table of up to 2,000 entries and jumbo frame support up to 9 KB match the rest of the DIS-100G family. Broadcast, multicast and unicast storm control together with IEEE 802.1p QoS across four hardware queues per port protect the network from congestion. With PoE active, maximum power draw reaches 120.2 W and heat dissipation reaches 410.12 BTU/hr - worth factoring into cabinet spacing. The rugged metal enclosure (139 x 29 x 107 mm, 0.38 kg) is entirely fanless and rated for -40 °C to 75 °C, while redundant power through a 48 to 58 VDC terminal block and an alarm relay (1 A at 24 V) add further operational resilience.

Mounting

The DIS-100G-5PSW is designed for standard DIN-rail mounting, with wall mounting available as an alternative - compact enough for field cabinets and outdoor enclosures where PoE devices need power without separate injectors.

Product Status Notice

The D-Link DIS-100G-5PSW has been discontinued by D-Link (End of Sale since 7 May 2022). According to the manufacturer, support continues until 6 May 2027. D-Link does not name an official successor for this model; for new projects we recommend the current models in the DIS-100G / DIS-210G / DIS-310G series.
