The D-Link DIS-300G-14PSW is an industrial gigabit managed PoE switch for applications that need robust networking combined with reliable power delivery to connected devices. Typical deployments include heavy industry and factory automation with PoE-powered cameras and sensors on machinery, traffic engineering and rail applications (ITS) thanks to NEMA-TS2 Section 2 certification, and municipal surveillance and smart-city projects where PoE cameras and access points are powered directly through the switch without separate power supplies at the endpoint.

Technical Overview

The switch shares its firmware platform with the rest of the DIS-300G series and supports Spanning Tree protocols per IEEE 802.1D/802.1w/802.1s and link aggregation per 802.3ad. Network segmentation is handled through up to 256 static VLAN groups (1024 including dynamic groups) with port-, MAC-, IP-subnet-, and protocol-based assignment plus 802.1ad Q-in-Q tagging, complemented by IGMP multicast management (v1/v2/v3) for up to 255 groups. Quality of Service per IEEE 802.1p with eight priority queues per port keeps prioritized traffic flowing, for instance video streams from PoE cameras.

Security features include 802.1X authentication, IP- and MAC-based access control, and storm control; authentication can run locally or through RADIUS/TACACS+ (AAA). Management is available via CLI, web interface, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Telnet, or encrypted HTTPS/SSH, complemented by syslog, port mirroring, copper diagnostics, and SFP modules with Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM). The redundant power supply covers an input voltage range of 12 to 58 V DC depending on the PoE mode in use.

Notes

Matching SFP transceivers (DIS-S301SX, DIS-S302SX, DIS-S310LX) and external power supplies are compatible accessories. D-Link still lists a 5-year manufacturer warranty for the DIS-300G-14PSW under its applicable warranty terms.

Product Status Notice

The D-Link DIS-300G-14PSW has been discontinued by D-Link (End of Sale since 7 May 2022). According to the manufacturer, support continues until 6 May 2027. D-Link does not name an official successor for this model; for new projects we recommend the current models in the DIS-100G / DIS-210G / DIS-310G series.
