Technical Overview

The transceiver operates at a 1310 nm wavelength at 1.25 Gbps over 9/125µm single-mode fiber (OS1/OS2), reaching up to 10 km. Optical transmit power ranges from -3 to -8 dBm, with a minimum receive sensitivity of -24 dBm, giving a power budget of 16 to 21 dB — notably higher than the shorter-reach multi-mode DIS-S301SX and DIS-S302SX variants. At 3.3V operating voltage, a maximum input current of 300 mA and an MTBF of 223,857 hours, the module is built for reliable continuous operation. FCC, CE, VCCI, LVD and EN 60825 certifications round out its safety profile.

Compatibility

According to the manufacturer, the DIS-S310LX is intended for all D-Link industrial switches with an SFP or mini-GBIC slot, including the DIS-100G, DIS-101G, DIS-210G, DIS-300G, DIS-310G and DIS-700G series, as well as the DIS-M100G-SW media converter, which lists the same module as an accessory in its datasheet.
