MAX HD2 Mini
The MAX HD2 Mini is a powerful outdoor antenna solution from Peplink, specifically designed for use with compact routers from the BR1 Mini series. It combines high-gain cellular, Wi-Fi, and GPS antenna elements in a weatherproof housing and virtually eliminates cable losses by mounting the router directly inside the unit—for maximum signal strength and reliable connectivity in demanding outdoor environments.
Description
Key Benefits at a Glance
- Maximum Signal Gain: Up to 6.6 dBi gain for cellular and 7.4 dBi for Wi-Fi, with no losses from long RF cables.
- Integrated Router Housing: Accommodates compatible Peplink routers directly and protects them from the elements.
- Nearly 0 dB Cable Loss: Router is mounted inside the antenna housing; network connection is via Ethernet—eliminating lossy RF cables.
- Robust Construction: UV-resistant plastic housing withstands moisture, salt spray, and corrosion.
- Flexible Mounting: Includes L-bracket for roof mounting; optional mounts available for pole, wall, surface, and ceiling installations.
- Broad Compatibility: Supports BR1 Mini series, Transit Duo Pro, BR1 Pro 5G, CAT20, Adapter series, and AP One Rugged.
- Maximum Cost Efficiency: Cost-effective solution to significantly extend the range and performance of Peplink routers in outdoor settings.
Powerful Signal Amplification
The MAX HD2 Mini eliminates the issue of high cable attenuation commonly found with traditional outdoor antennas. Standard 5-meter RF cables can result in near-total signal loss at frequencies above 2100 MHz. By integrating the router directly into the antenna housing, these losses are avoided—ensuring full antenna gain is delivered to the router without degradation. The four integrated cellular antenna elements deliver peak gains of 3.0 dBi in the low band (617–960 MHz), 6.2 dBi in the mid band (1410–2700 MHz), 5.7 dBi in the 3400–4400 MHz band, and 6.6 dBi in the 5000–6000 MHz band. The two Wi-Fi elements achieve 5.4 dBi at 2.4 GHz and 7.4 dBi at 5 GHz. A dedicated GPS element with 27 dB LNA amplification ensures precise positioning data.
Rugged Design for Outdoor Use
The MAX HD2 Mini housing is made from UV-stabilized plastic and is specifically designed for permanent outdoor installations. It resists moisture, water ingress, salt spray, and corrosion, and meets UL flame retardancy requirements. With a height of 120 mm and a diameter of 250 mm, it provides ample space for the router while reliably protecting it from environmental factors. The antenna connectors are right-angle SMA (cellular and GPS) and RP-SMA (Wi-Fi) types, ensuring stable, low-loss connections.
Easy Installation and Flexible Mounting
The MAX HD2 Mini comes with a fixed L-mount for roof installation and also supports pole, wall, surface, and ceiling mounting—ideal for vehicles, trucks, vans, boats, and fixed outdoor locations. The router is installed directly inside the housing and connected to the rest of the network via an Ethernet cable. For routers without PoE-in support, a PoE splitter may be required. The router is powered via the same Ethernet cable, further simplifying cabling.
Broad Compatibility
The MAX HD2 Mini is optimized for a wide range of Peplink routers, including the entire BR1 Mini series (BR1 Mini, BR1 Mini Core, BR1 Mini 5G, BR1 Mini M2M), Transit Duo Pro, BR1 Pro 5G, CAT20, the Adapter series (POTS Adapter and MAX Adapter), as well as the AP One Rugged. This flexibility allows easy upgrades of existing installations or new projects with maximum signal reach.
