Performance and Connectivity
The BR2 Micro combines two CAT-4 cellular modems with a Gigabit Ethernet WAN port and a USB-C LAN interface to ensure reliable internet access even in areas with fluctuating network coverage. The integrated SpeedFusion technology enables hot failover, bandwidth aggregation, and packet smoothing across multiple WAN connections. The router achieves a throughput of 300 Mbit/s and supports load-balancing algorithms such as Weighted Balance, Priority, Overflow, and Lowest Latency to intelligently distribute traffic. Quality of Service (QoS) prioritizes business-critical applications like VoIP and HTTPS and ensures adherence to per-user bandwidth limits.
Design and Power Supply
With dimensions of only 76 x 83 x 43 mm and a weight of 350 g, the BR2 Micro can be mounted space-efficiently in vehicles, machines, or tight switch cabinets. The rugged metal housing reliably protects the electronics. Power can be supplied either via the included 12V/2A power adapter (AC input 100–240V), a 10–30V DC input, or the USB-C port at 9V. Typical power consumption is just 8 W, with a maximum of 13 W. Operation is specified within a temperature range of -40 °C to 65 °C and at humidity levels from 15% to 95% (non-condensing).
Management and Security
Configuration and monitoring are performed via the web interface, command line, or the cloud-based InControl 2 platform, which also enables location tracking and fleet management. The integrated eSIM allows automatic activation without manual SIM swapping. Security features include a stateful firewall, DoS prevention, web blocking, and VPN options: SpeedFusion VPN with 256-bit AES encryption, IPsec (Network-to-Network), and X.509 certificate support. A captive portal with RADIUS authentication, NAT/PAT, port forwarding, and VLAN support round out the feature set.
Applications
The BR2 Micro is suitable for a wide range of applications where a stable internet connection is essential: from vehicle routers in buses and emergency vehicles to connecting remote IoT sensors and temporary construction or event networks. Thanks to the integrated GPS module, real-time location data can be captured and used with InControl 2 for fleet management. Support for up to 60 recommended users and flexible WAN/LAN port configuration also make it attractive for small office or home office scenarios.
