SpeedFusion VPN and Failover

With the svl-648 service agreement, the full SpeedFusion VPN functionality becomes available on your router. The technology combines multiple WAN connections—whether wired or mobile—into a single logical tunnel. It uses Hot Failover, Packet-Level Smoothing, and Bandwidth Bonding to ensure no packet loss even if one connection fails. Throughput reaches up to 400 Mbit/s without encryption and 200 Mbit/s with 256-bit AES encryption. Additionally, multiple SpeedFusion VPN peers can be configured to build site-to-site redundant networks.

Security and Quality of Service (QoS)

The service agreement enhances your router’s security architecture with a Stateful Firewall, integrated DoS prevention, and Web Blocking. At the same time, it provides access to advanced QoS mechanisms: you can set individual bandwidth limits per user or application and prioritize business-critical traffic such as SIP, HTTPS, or VPN tunnels. Custom application QoS rules can also be defined to ensure consistently high voice and video quality.

Management and Deployment

The svl-648 unlocks all network and management functions. These include LAN-side VLAN support, a full-featured DHCP server with reservation options, DNS proxy, and advanced WAN functions such as PPPoE, static IP, and DHCP with link health check. The integrated GPS module enables location tracking and fleet management in conjunction with InControl 2. Additionally, the AP controller function for the Peplink AP series is activated, including automatic discovery, firmware management, and Wi-Fi usage statistics.

Certifications and Durability

The service agreement applies to devices certified for use in demanding environments. The underlying hardware complies with EN 61373 (shock and vibration resistance), EN 50155 (electronic equipment in railway vehicles), EN 61000 (electromagnetic compatibility), and EN 45545-2 (fire protection in rail applications). It also holds FCC, CE, RoHS approvals and the E-Mark for motor vehicles, making the solution suitable for mobile use in buses, trains, and commercial vehicles.
