Flexible WAN Connectivity and Intelligent Load Distribution

The covered MAX BR1 MK2 LTE router supports multiple WAN connections with PPPoE, static IP, and DHCP. An integrated WAN Link Health Check monitors connection quality, while Dynamic DNS services ensure reachability. The WAN port can be converted into a LAN port if needed.

For optimal utilization, eight load distribution algorithms are available:

  • Weighted Balance: Weighted distribution according to capacity
  • Priority: Prioritized use of specific links
  • Overflow: Failover when thresholds are exceeded
  • Persistence: Session retention for stable connections
  • Least Used: Preference for the least utilized link
  • Lowest Latency: Selection of the link with the lowest latency
  • Enforced: Enforced distribution according to policy
  • Fastest Response Time: Dynamic selection of the fastest link

Comprehensive Security and VPN Integration

The stateful firewall protects the network against unauthorized access, while DoS Prevention and Web Blocking provide additional layers of security. For encrypted site-to-site networking, SpeedFusion VPN with 256-bit AES encryption and Pre-shared Key authentication as well as IPsec (Network-to-Network) are available. Remote User Access is supported via PPTP, L2TP, and OpenVPN, complemented by dynamic routing and X.509 certificates.

Advanced Network Features and Quality of Service

The router provides extensive LAN services: DHCP server with advanced options and reservation, DNS proxy, and VLAN support. NAT and IP forwarding, static routes, port forwarding, as well as Many-to-One and One-to-One NAT enable flexible network designs. SIP ALG, H.323 ALG, UPnP, and NAT-PMP round out the protocol support.

The integrated QoS allows individual bandwidth limits and prioritizes applications such as SIP, HTTPS, and VPN. Custom application profiles ensure consistently high voice and data quality.

Centralized Management and Location Tracking

The integrated AP Controller automatically detects Peplink Access Points, manages their firmware, and enables centralized configuration of Wi-Fi profiles. The GPS function provides precise location data, which can be used in InControl 2 for fleet management and movement tracking.
