Performance and Connectivity
The integrated CAT-4 modem achieves up to 150 Mbps downlink and 50 Mbps uplink over LTE bands B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B66, and B71. For 3G fallback, WCDMA/HSPA+/DC-HSPA+ on B2 and B5 are available. Two SMA antenna connectors ensure reliable reception, and the redundant SIM slots enable automatic switching between Nano-SIM, Peplink eSIM, or BYO eSIM — ideal for mobile and fixed installations with high availability requirements.
The router handles up to 300 Mbps routed throughput. PepVPN connections reach 80 Mbps without and 60 Mbps with 256-bit AES encryption. SpeedFusion Hot Failover, Smoothing, and Bandwidth Bonding (1/1/2 sessions) are available after activation via the optional Feature Pack or PrimeCare, bonding multiple WAN connections into a logical, fail-safe link.
Management and Security
The Peplink MAX firmware includes a stateful firewall, DoS prevention, and web blocking. VPN support includes SpeedFusion site-to-site, IPsec network-to-network, PPTP server, and dynamic routing. Authentication is supported via pre-shared key, RADIUS, or LDAP. LAN-side VLAN support, advanced DHCP options, and DNS proxy round out the network management features.
Centralized management is provided via InControl Cloud Management, complemented by a web interface, command-line interface, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, Syslog, and email notifications. Detailed bandwidth statistics, active client lists, and application-specific QoS (SIP, HTTPS, VPN, custom rules) provide full visibility and control over traffic.
Rugged Industrial Design
The MAX BR1 Mini Core is built for extreme environments: operating temperature from -40 °C to +65 °C, humidity from 15% to 95% (non-condensing). With dimensions of 125.7 x 107 x 35 mm and a weight of only 430 g, it can be mounted space-efficiently — optionally with a DIN-rail mount. Power is supplied via 10–30 V DC, with typical power consumption at 10 W (maximum 16 W).
Certifications including UL, CUL (62368-1), UL 121201 (Class I, Division 2), FCC, CE, and RoHS confirm suitability for demanding industrial and government applications. The GPIO-enabled Power Port allows direct integration of sensors and actuators, making the router a central communication and control unit in telemetry applications.
