Powerful Switching Architecture

The switch operates with a Store-and-Forward architecture and a 7.2 Gbit/s non-blocking switch fabric. This ensures lossless forwarding with a throughput of up to 5.36 million packets per second (64-byte packets). Automatic address management supports up to 16,000 MAC addresses with self-learning source address recognition and aging function. A shared 4 Mbit data buffer and IEEE 802.3x flow control (pause frames for full duplex, backpressure for half duplex) ensure stable data transmission even under heavy load.

Rugged Design for Harsh Industrial Environments

The IP30-rated metal housing makes the switch resistant to dust and mechanical influences. It is designed for use in a wide temperature range of -40 to 75 °C and can withstand storage temperatures of -40 to 85 °C at humidity levels of 5 to 95% (non-condensing). The integrated 6KV DC ESD discharge and surge current resistance of ±6KV reliably protect the electronics from electrostatic discharge and transient overvoltages. Comprehensive stability tests according to IEC60068-2-32 (free fall), IEC60068-2-27 (shock), and IEC60068-2-6 (vibration) confirm suitability for vibration- and shock-loaded applications.

Reliable Power Supply and Alerting

The redundant voltage supply via a removable 6-pin terminal block allows connection of two independent 12~48V DC sources or one 24V AC source. A reverse polarity protection prevents damage from incorrect wiring. In case of power supply failure, an alarm is triggered via a potential-free relay output (1 A @ 24V DC), enabling maintenance teams to respond immediately. The maximum power consumption is only 6.3 watts (21.4 BTU) at full Ethernet load.

Flexible Installation and Energy Efficiency

The switch is supplied with a DIN rail kit and a wall mounting kit, allowing space-saving installation in switch cabinets or directly on machines. Support for IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) reduces energy consumption during periods of low network activity without affecting performance. The two Gigabit combo ports offer a choice between copper and fiber uplinks, enabling flexible connection to higher-level network segments.
