High-Performance Switching Architecture
The IGS-6325-4T2X operates with a non-blocking switch fabric of 60 Gbps and achieves a throughput of 44,462 Mpps at 64-byte packets. The store-and-forward architecture ensures that each packet is fully checked before forwarding. An address table with 8K entries and automatic source address learning, along with a shared data buffer of 32 Mbits, guarantees efficient packet processing even under heavy load. Jumbo frames up to 10K bytes are supported, increasing efficiency for data-intensive applications.
Flow control is implemented via IEEE 802.3x pause frames in full-duplex mode, while back pressure is used in half-duplex mode. Each port can be individually configured—from auto-negotiation through speed and duplex mode to flow control. For network analysis, port mirroring (TX/RX/Both) with many-to-1 monitoring and RMirror (Cisco RSPAN) across up to 5 sessions is available.
ERPS Ring & Industrial Fail-Safe Design
The switch supports Ethernet Ring Protection Switching (ERPS) according to ITU-T G.8032 and achieves recovery times under 10 ms at 3 nodes and under 50 ms at 16 nodes. Both major ring and sub-ring are supported, enabling complex multi-level ring topologies. This capability makes the IGS-6325-4T2X the ideal choice for networks where every millisecond of downtime counts.
For power supply, two redundant inputs are available—either DC 9–48V (3A max.) or AC 24V (1.5A max.)—protected by reverse polarity protection and active-active redundancy. A relay output reports power failures (switching capacity 1A @ 24VDC), while two digital inputs (Level 0: -24~2.1V, Level 1: 2.1~24V) and two digital outputs (open collector, 24VDC, 100mA) enable integration into external alarm systems. The IP30 aluminum housing is suitable for DIN rail and wall mounting and withstands temperatures from -40 to 75 °C. ESD and surge protection of 6KV DC, along with passed stability tests according to IEC60068-2-32 (free fall), IEC60068-2-27 (shock), and IEC60068-2-6 (vibration), underscore the device's robustness.
Layer-3 Routing & Comprehensive Management
The IGS-6325-4T2X supports hardware-based static routing for IPv4 and IPv6 with up to 32 static routing entries and a routing table of up to 1K entries. Dynamic routing is supported via RIPv2, OSPFv2 (IPv4), and OSPFv3 (IPv6). Up to 32 VLAN interfaces can be configured as IP interfaces.
At Layer 2, the switch supports IEEE 802.1Q tagged VLANs with up to 4K VLAN groups (4095 VLAN IDs), Q-in-Q tunneling (IEEE 802.1ad), Private VLAN Edge, MAC-based, protocol-based, voice, and IP subnet-based VLANs, as well as MVR and GVRP. Link aggregation according to IEEE 802.3ad LACP allows up to 3 trunk groups with 6 ports each. The Spanning Tree Protocol is implemented in variants 802.1D, 802.1w (RSTP), and 802.1s (MSTP) with 7 instances, including BPDU Guard, BPDU Filtering, and Root Guard. IGMP Snooping (v1/v2/v3) and MLD Snooping (v1/v2) manage up to 255 groups each. Bandwidth control allows fine-grained limitation from 10 Kbps to 13.128 Mbps per port—both ingress and egress.
For Quality of Service, 8 priority queues with strict priority and weighted round robin (WRR) are available. Classification is based on port number, 802.1p priority, VLAN tag, DSCP/ToS field, and IP-TCP/UDP port number. Management can be performed via console port (RJ45-to-RS232, 115200 baud), Telnet, web browser, or SNMP v1/v2c. Secure access is provided via SSHv2, TLS 1.2, and SNMPv3. IEEE 1588v2 PTP (Precision Time Protocol) in transparent clock mode (peer-to-peer and end-to-end) ensures precise time synchronization in the network. LLDP, NTP, Syslog, as well as the PLANET Smart Discovery Utility and CloudViewer app round out the management portfolio.
Security & Access Control
The IGS-6325-4T2X offers a multi-layered security concept. Access Control Lists (ACLs) with up to 512 entries filter based on MAC address, IP address, Ethertype, protocol type, VLAN ID, DSCP, and 802.1p priority. Port Security, IP Source Guard (up to 512 entries), and Dynamic ARP Inspection (up to 1K entries) protect against unauthorized access and ARP spoofing attacks. Up to 64 static MAC addresses can be configured.
Network access control is implemented via IEEE 802.1X—both port-based and MAC-based—with local authentication or via RADIUS. A TACACS+ client is available for centralized access management. Command-line authorization is tiered by user level. All management interfaces are cryptographically secured via SSHv2, TLS 1.2, and SNMPv3. Compliance with EMC regulations is evidenced by certifications FCC Part 15 Class A and CE (EN55032, EN55035).
