Satellite positioning

The FMB225 supports satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, SBAS, QZSS, DGPS, and AGPS via a 33-channel receiver. Tracking sensitivity is -165 dBm, positioning accuracy is less than 2.5 CEP, and speed accuracy is less than 0.1 m/s with an error margin of ±15%. Hot start takes less than 1 second, warm start less than 25 seconds, and cold start less than 35 seconds. The built-in GNSS antenna is of the High Gain type.

Cellular connectivity and interfaces

Quad-band 2G connectivity covers the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz bands. Data transmission is via GPRS Multi-Slot Class 12 at speeds up to 240 kbps, and SMS is supported in both text and data modes. Two Dual SIM slots provide communication channel redundancy. The device includes one digital input, one digital output, one analog input, one CAN adapter input, one 1-Wire interface, one RS232 port, and one RS485 port. The Bluetooth 4.0 + LE module enables wireless connectivity. A Micro-USB 2.0 port is available for wired connections.

Power and power consumption

The input voltage range is 10 to 30 V DC with overvoltage protection. An internal backup battery (170 mAh Li-Ion, 3.7 V, 0.63 Wh) keeps the device operational when external power is unavailable. Multiple sleep modes reduce power consumption at 12 V: Ultra Deep Sleep consumes less than 6 mA, Deep Sleep less than 6.5 mA, Online Deep Sleep less than 7 mA, GPS Sleep less than 12 mA, and nominal idle mode less than 38 mA.

Design and operating conditions

The housing measures 70.5 × 67.0 × 25.6 mm; with the connector, the length increases to 85.0 mm. The IP67 protection rating ensures complete dust resistance and water protection. The operating temperature range without the battery is -40 °C to +85 °C, matching the storage temperature range. Operating humidity is 5% to 95% non-condensing. Battery charging temperature is 0 °C to +45 °C, and discharge temperature is -20 °C to +60 °C. The device is certified to CE-RED, E-mark, Reach, and RoHS standards, features two status LEDs, and has 128 MB of built-in flash memory.
