Performance & Throughput

The TSW040 provides eight 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports, which eliminate the need for crossover cables thanks to Auto MDI/MDIX. The non-blocking switching architecture delivers a bandwidth of 20 Gbps and supports jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes. A MAC address table with 2K entries and a 128 KB packet buffer ensure efficient data forwarding even in busy networks. The PoE outputs comply with the 802.3af and 802.3at standards, powering connected devices via the spare pair (Mode B) with up to 30 W per port—within a total budget of 240 W.

Industrial-Grade Design & Power Supply

The anodised aluminium housing and IP30 protection rating make the switch suitable for challenging environments. It operates reliably at temperatures from -40 °C to 75 °C and humidity levels of 10 % to 90 % (non-condensing). Weighing just 280 g and with compact dimensions of 113.1 x 41.2 x 74.6 mm, it can be mounted space-efficiently on the integrated DIN rail, on a wall, or on flat surfaces. A grounding screw and status LEDs for power and all Ethernet ports simplify installation and troubleshooting.

Power is supplied via a 2-pin industrial DC connector with a wide input voltage range of 7–57 VDC. Comprehensive protection circuits ensure safe operation: overvoltage protection up to 60 Vmax, reverse polarity protection up to 80 Vmax, and a surge arrester with a breakdown voltage of min. 64.4 V / max. 71.2 V and a maximum reverse voltage of 93.6 V at 4.3 A reverse current. Power consumption is 1 W in idle mode, 2 W maximum, and 246 W under full PoE load.
