Hardware and performance

The TSW202 delivers a non-blocking bandwidth of 20 Gbps and a forwarding rate of 14.88 Mpps. The 512 KB packet buffer and support for Jumbo frames up to 10,000 bytes enable efficient processing even under heavy traffic. The MAC address table can hold up to 8,000 entries, while the 8 RJ45 ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds with auto MDI/MDIX crossover.

The 2 SFP ports allow fiber optic uplinks to extend connectivity beyond the limits of copper cabling. The switch complies with IEEE standards 802.3i, 802.3u, 802.3ab, and 802.3x and supports Jumbo frames to optimize throughput in scenarios with large payloads.

Industrial design and power supply

The anodized aluminum housing with IP30 protection makes the switch suitable for installations in industrial environments. The operating temperature ranges from -40 °C to 75 °C, and the operating humidity from 10 % to 90 % non-condensing. The weight is 610 g, and the dimensions are 132 x 44.2 x 122.2 mm.

Power is supplied via a 2-pin industrial DC connector with an input voltage range of 7 to 57 VDC, while the PoE input ranges from 44 to 57 VDC. Idle power consumption is less than 3 W, with a maximum of 8 W and up to 248 W when PoE is fully utilized. DIN rail mounting is integrated, with additional options for wall and flat surface mounting. Status LEDs include 1 power LED, 1 AUX LED, 16 LAN LEDs, and 2 SFP LEDs; a grounding terminal and software reset button are also provided.

PoE+ and connectivity

All 8 RJ45 ports provide PoE+ power in compliance with 802.3af and 802.3at Alternative B standards, with a maximum power of 30 W per port and a total budget of 240 W. The maximum Ethernet cable length is 100 m, allowing power and connectivity for endpoint devices such as access points, IP cameras, and automation controllers within standard limits.

Management and network functions

The TSWOS operating system, based on OpenWrt Linux, offers extensive configuration and firmware customization options. An SDK with a compilation environment is available, and support is provided for Busybox shell, Lua, C, and C++ languages. Firmware updates can be performed from a file, server, via RMS, or FOTA while preserving the current configuration.

Port settings include enable/disable, link speed control, port isolation, PoE management, EEE (802.3az) management, and port mirroring. Layer 2 functions include loop protection, forwarding table, VLAN, and STP/RSTP. Layer 3 functions include static IPv4 and IPv6 routing, DHCPv6 client, and static IPv6 address.

QoS supports priority by port, DSCP, 802.1p, and TOS with SP/WFQ/WRR scheduling methods. Bandwidth control offers rate limiting, storm control, and port-based traffic shaping. The TSW202 also supports MRP with client and manager roles, DHCP server and client, LLDP, SNMP V2 and V3.

Industrial automation and diagnostics

Support for PROFINET Class B, EtherNet/IP, and MRP makes the TSW202 integrable into existing industrial automation networks. Built-in diagnostic tools include cable diagnostics, ping, traceroute, and nslookup, facilitating troubleshooting directly from the switch.

The TSW202 is certified CE, UKCA, RCM, ANRT, FCC, IC, CB, RoHS, and REACH.
