The AF-4X meets the growing demand for broadband, reliable communications in mission-critical environments. It was specifically engineered for government applications—police, fire, and medical emergency services—and enables the deployment of high-performance wireless links that ensure stable connectivity even under challenging conditions. The licensed 4.9 GHz spectrum provides exclusive, interference-free channels, while additional frequencies from 4.7 GHz to 4.9 GHz are supported in Europe and other regions (subject to local regulations).

High-Performance INVICTUS™ Architecture

At the heart of the AF-4X is Ubiquiti’s custom-designed INVICTUS™ processor, engineered specifically for long-range outdoor wireless applications. The proprietary radio architecture overcomes the limitations of generic Wi-Fi chips, delivering spectral efficiency of up to 17.1 Mbps/MHz. Combined with line-rate packet processing, it achieves real-world throughput of 687 Mbps. Paired with xtreme Range Technology (xRT™), it establishes stable connections over distances exceeding 200 km—even in harsh environmental conditions.

Flexible Channel and Frequency Configuration

The AF-4X supports up to 11 different channel bandwidths and allows independent configuration of transmit and receive frequencies. Channel centers can be freely positioned within the frequency band in 1 MHz increments. Additionally, varying uplink and downlink duty cycles can be programmed to optimally serve asymmetric traffic requirements. This granularity enables precise adaptation to specific deployment scenarios and local regulatory requirements.

Secure and Low-Latency Transmission

The AF-4X’s proprietary radio protocol uses AES-128 encryption to ensure the confidentiality of communication channels. Hybrid Division Duplexing (HDD) technology delivers the highest TDD throughput with minimal latency—a critical advantage for real-time applications such as video surveillance or mission-critical voice communications.
