Design and Redundant Power Supply

The EdgeRouter Infinity features a compact rack-mount design with hot-swappable modular power supplies. It includes primary and redundant AC/DC power modules that automatically switch to the backup supply if the main power supply fails. This redundant power supply ensures uninterrupted operation in high-availability environments.

Management and Monitoring

The EdgeRouter Infinity is supported and managed by the Ubiquiti Network Management System (UNMS) – a comprehensive management platform with a user-friendly graphical interface. It enables central control of all EdgeMAX devices registered across various networks and locations. The dashboard displays detailed statistics, including IP information, MTU, transmit and receive speeds, and the status of individual interfaces. The traffic analysis screen provides insights into the data traffic flowing through the router, including local hosts and traffic types.

With the UNMS app, you can manage the EdgeRouter Infinity from a mobile device. It is available for download from the App Store (iOS) and Google Play (Android). After installation, simply connect to a wireless network that has access to the router, detect it, and log in to the configuration interface to view and adjust parameters such as interface information, port throughput, and system settings.

Enterprise Deployment

In a typical enterprise environment, the EdgeRouter Infinity connects to multiple 10G EdgeSwitch XG units and serves as the routing core of the network infrastructure. The combination of eight 10G SFP+ ports and redundancy features makes it ideal for environments that require high-speed connections with load balancing and failover. Centralized management via UNMS enables the registration and administration of multiple EdgeMAX devices through a single interface.
