How It Works

The Instant 802.3af Adapter accepts 48V 802.3af voltage from a standards-compliant PoE switch and converts it into 18V passive PoE power, which many Ubiquiti devices with 100-Mbps Ethernet ports require. The built-in sensing function ensures the adapter is recognized by the switch as a valid 802.3af PD (Powered Device). This allows Ubiquiti devices to be seamlessly integrated into existing 802.3af infrastructures without the need for separate power supplies.

Protection and Reliability

The adapter features built-in ±15kV Ethernet ESD and surge protection, reducing the risk of damage from electrostatic discharges or voltage spikes. Its rugged rubber enclosure reliably protects the electronics and is optimized for indoor use. The adapter operates within a temperature range of 0 to 70°C, making it suitable for a variety of environmental conditions.
