Cable Construction & Materials

The PC-12 is built around 12 AWG tinned stranded copper conductors, combining excellent electrical conductivity with inherent corrosion resistance. Stranding enhances flexibility, simplifying routing through conduits and cable trays. The outer jacket is a fire-resistant polyethylene compound meeting FT-1 flame ratings, and it is engineered to withstand prolonged UV exposure and all-weather conditions without degradation. A minimum pull tension of 80 lb ensures the cable can be installed with confidence in demanding physical environments.

Electrical Performance

Optimised for DC power distribution, the PC-12 maintains signal integrity over long distances. It exhibits a low DC resistance of 1.77 Ω/1000 ft at 20°C, minimising voltage drop and heat buildup. Capacitance is tightly controlled at 28 pF/ft at 1 kHz, while the characteristic impedance of 56 Ω supports stable power transfer. With a 300 V rating, the cable accommodates a broad range of DC power systems without compromising safety or efficiency.

Environmental Resilience & Deployment

Rated for operation from -30 to 90°C, the PC-12 performs reliably in freezing cold and extreme heat. The UV-resistant jacket prevents cracking and embrittlement from sunlight, while the fire-resistant polyethylene construction adds an extra layer of safety in outdoor and equipment-room installations. The cable is supplied in 1000 ft (305 m) reels, allowing installers to cut precise lengths for each site, reducing waste and simplifying inventory for large-scale WISP and enterprise rollouts.
