Performance & Connectivity
A quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor clocked at 2.0 GHz and 16 GB of RAM form the computing platform of the UNAS-Pro-8. For network connectivity, two 10G SFP+ ports (10G only) and one 10 GbE RJ45 port are available, supporting speeds from 100 Mbps to 10 Gbps. The combination of NVMe SSD caching and 10 Gbps networking enables fast access and low latency for large volumes of stored data. Management is handled via Ethernet; the device also supports Bluetooth 4.1.

Storage Management & Data Security
The UNAS-Pro-8 supports the NFS and SMB file protocols as well as personal and shared drives. For data organization, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 are available, with support for multiple RAID groups and hot spare drives. The NVMe SSD caching feature accelerates access, with a maximum supported NVMe SSD capacity of 4 TiB. File encryption protects stored content, and snapshots allow recovery of previous file states.
The backup strategy includes multiple destinations: backups to remote UNAS systems, CIFS/SMB servers, and cloud services such as Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi. Share links enable controlled file sharing, and Time Machine backups for macOS clients are supported. A client app and user groups are also available.

The UNAS-Pro-8 is a 2U rackmount device with an SGCC steel chassis, weighing 11.5 kg. The included rails support four-post racks with a 600 mm depth and square holes (9.5 x 9.5 mm); post depth can vary between 600 and 1066 mm. Two hot-swappable AC/DC 550W power supplies provide redundant power. The maximum power budget for drives is 225W, with a total maximum power consumption of 250W. Status LEDs for Ethernet, SFP+, HDD, and system indicate operational status.
