Performance and Network Connectivity

A quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor running at 2.0 GHz and 16 GB of RAM form the hardware foundation of the storage system. For network connectivity, two 10G SFP+ ports are available, which operate exclusively with 10 Gbit/s modules, along with a 10-GBASE-T RJ45 port that automatically negotiates speeds from 100 Mbit/s to 10 Gbit/s. This combination of three 10G-capable interfaces enables high throughput rates for simultaneous use by multiple clients and is ideal for serving large files on enterprise networks.

Storage Capacity and RAID Management

The system offers eight 2.5/3.5-inch drive bays for HDDs or SSDs, as well as two M.2 NVMe slots that support up to 4 TiB of NVMe SSD capacity for SSD caching. Via the UniFi platform at unifi.ui.com, RAID 5, RAID 6, and RAID 10 can be configured with multiple RAID groups, and hot spare drives can be automatically assigned. Personal and shared drives are also available, allowing individual users to have their own storage spaces while teams can use shared folders.

Data Protection and Backup Features

File encryption protects stored data on the system, and snapshots enable point-in-time recovery. For offsite data transfer, the system supports backups to remote UNAS systems and CIFS/SMB servers. Cloud backup destinations include Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Amazon S3, Backblaze B2, and Wasabi. Share links allow controlled file sharing, and Time Machine backups for macOS clients are also supported. File sharing is handled via NFS and SMB protocols.

Power Supply and Redundancy

Two hot-swappable AC/DC power supplies, each rated at 550W, power the system and provide redundancy, ensuring continuous operation if one module fails. The system’s maximum power consumption is 250W, and the maximum power budget for drives is 225W. Both power supplies can be replaced during operation without shutting down the system.

Installation and Rack Mounting

The enclosure is designed as a 2U rackmount system and is made of SGCC steel, as are the included mounting rails. The rails support four-post racks with square holes measuring 9.5 × 9.5 mm and post depths from 600 to 1066 mm. The system dimensions are 442.4 × 480 × 87.4 mm, and it weighs 11.5 kg. Status LEDs for Ethernet, SFP+, drives, and the system provide an at-a-glance overview of each component’s operational status.

Certifications and Environmental Conditions

The system is NDAA-compliant and holds FCC, CE, IC, and SRRC certifications. The permissible operating temperature ranges from −5 to 40 °C, and relative humidity can range from 5 to 95% non-condensing. Bluetooth 4.1 is available as an RF interface, and management is handled via Ethernet. The warranty period is 12 months.
