High-Performance Hardware for High-Density Environments

The UAP-AC-SHD is designed for environments with many simultaneous users. Its dual-band architecture with 3x3 MU-MIMO on both frequency bands ensures efficient data streams and minimized latency. On the 5 GHz band, the access point achieves up to 1.3 Gbps (BW80), while on the 2.4 GHz band, it reaches up to 450 Mbps (BW40). Six spatial streams and channel bandwidths of 20, 40, and 80 MHz guarantee reliable performance even for bandwidth-intensive applications. The integrated 3 dBi antennas provide stable coverage of 140 m², while the maximum transmit power of 22 dBm on both bands ensures strong signal penetration.

Intuitive Management with the UniFi Controller

Setup and administration are handled centrally via the UniFi Controller software, which can be run on a local PC, Mac, or Linux machine, in a private cloud, or as a cloud service. The Controller allows configuration of thousands of access points, creation of detailed network maps, traffic management, and seamless system expansion—from a single location to distributed multi-site installations. Features like Band Steering, 802.11v BSS Transition Management, 802.11r Fast Roaming, and 802.11k Radio Resource Management automatically optimize client roaming and radio resources.

Comprehensive Security and Guest Access Features

The access point offers a wide range of security mechanisms for professional use, including RADIUS over TLS (RadSec) for encrypted authentication, dynamic RADIUS-assigned VLANs, Private Pre-Shared Keys (PPSK), and Client Device Isolation. For guest networks, a full-featured Captive Portal is available—with custom branding landing pages, voucher-based, password-based, and payment-based authentication, external portal server integration, and guest network isolation. WiFi Schedules and WiFi Speed Limiting further enhance access control. The UAP-AC-SHD is NDAA-compliant and meets CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certifications.

Flexible Deployment and Scalability

Thanks to its compact polycarbonate housing (⌀196.7 x 35 mm, 350 g) and support for ceiling and wall mounting (Pro Mount), the access point blends seamlessly into any environment. Power is supplied via PoE (44–57 V DC); a PoE adapter is included. Two GbE RJ45 ports provide redundant uplink options. The operating temperature range of -10 to 70 °C and humidity tolerance of 5 to 95% (non-condensing) allow deployment in challenging indoor environments. With the UniFi ecosystem, installations can scale from a single device to thousands of access points—all managed through a unified interface.
