Performance & Throughput

The UAP‑AC‑LITE leverages 2×2 DL MU‑MIMO on both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz radios, enabling simultaneous data streams to multiple clients. On the 5 GHz band, it achieves a maximum data rate of 867 Mbps using 80 MHz channel bandwidth (VHT 20/40/80), while the 2.4 GHz radio delivers up to 450 Mbps with 40 MHz channels (HT 20/40). Supported 802.11ac data rates range from 6.5 Mbps to 867 Mbps (MCS0–MCS9 NSS1/2), and 802.11n rates from 6.5 Mbps to 450 Mbps (MCS0–MCS23). With 3 dBi antenna gain and 20 dBm max TX power on each band, the access point ensures reliable coverage and consistent throughput across the 115 m² coverage area.

Design & Power

Encased in durable polycarbonate, the AP AC LITE weighs just 170 g (185 g with mount) and features a discreet, low‑profile design (⌀160 x 31.45 mm). It is powered via PoE through its single GbE RJ45 port, with a maximum power consumption of only 6.5W. The included PoE adapter simplifies installation, while the Lite Mount supports both ceiling and wall mounting. A system status LED provides at‑a‑glance operational feedback.

Management & Features

The UniFi Controller software serves as the central management hub, enabling configuration and monitoring of the AP AC LITE alongside thousands of other UniFi devices. The controller can be deployed on an on‑site PC, Mac, or Linux machine, in a private cloud, or via a public cloud service, and supports multi‑site management for distributed deployments and multi‑tenancy. Key wireless features include wireless meshing for extended coverage, band steering to optimise client connections, and 802.11k/r/v fast roaming for seamless mobility. An RF map helps visualise and analyse radio frequencies, while advanced radio management automates channel and power adjustments.

Guest access is fully customisable through the captive hotspot portal, which supports custom branding, voucher‑based, payment‑based, and password authentication, as well as external portal server integration. Guest network isolation, WiFi speed limiting, and WiFi schedules provide granular control over user access. Private Pre‑Shared Key (PPSK) and dynamic RADIUS‑assigned VLANs further enhance network segmentation and security.

Security & Compliance

The AP AC LITE meets NDAA compliance requirements and carries CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certifications. RADIUS over TLS (RadSec) secures authentication traffic, while client device isolation prevents lateral communication between connected devices. The access point also supports Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) for seamless, secure roaming in public venues.
