The Ubiquiti UniFi Mobile Router Ultra is an ultra-compact managed LTE mobile router for IoT applications, featuring integrated LTE Cat 4, wired WAN, Wi-Fi, and automatic failover between cellular, Ethernet, and Wi-Fi. The LTE Cat 4 radio technology delivers download speeds of up to 150 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 50 Mbps, though actual speeds depend on network coverage at the device location. An LTE passthrough mode and Ethernet bridge mode are also available. It uses a nano-SIM and supports LTE bands B2, B4, B5, B12, B13, B14, B25, B26, B66, and B71. VPN and Security Features The Mobile Router Ultra offers VPN client support for OpenVPN and WireGuard, as well as site-to-site VPN via IPsec and WireGuard. Integrated security features include a firewall, port forwarding, and static routes. Management is possible via Ethernet or Wi-Fi, enabling flexible deployment without a dedicated management interface. Wireless Technology and Antennas The built-in Wi-Fi radio operates on the WiFi 4 standard at 2.4 GHz with a 1x1 single-chain MIMO configuration and a maximum transmit power of 17 dBm. Supported data rates range from 1 to 11 Mbps for 802.11b, 6 to 54 Mbps for 802.11g, and 6.5 to 150 Mbps for 802.11n in HT 20/40 mode. For cellular connectivity, two external LTE antennas with SMA connectors are provided: Mobile 1 supports 1Rx, while Mobile 2 supports 1Tx and 1Rx. The Wi-Fi antenna connects via an RP-SMA connector. Power Supply and Mounting The router can be powered via USB Type-C at 5 V DC and 2 A or through a 4-pin ATX DC input at 9 to 30 V DC. Maximum power consumption is 5.7 W. A power supply and cables are not included; a 10 W USB-C or ATX power supply is recommended. Mounting options include DIN rail or wall mounting, with both brackets included. The wall bracket is made of polycarbonate, while the DIN rail bracket is steel. A factory reset button allows restoration to default settings. Certifications and Environmental Conditions The Mobile Router Ultra is NDAA-compliant and holds certifications from IC, PTCRB, GCF, AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, and the Wi-Fi Alliance. It operates in a wide range of ambient temperatures and at relative humidity levels of 10 to 90% (non-condensing). The housing is made of polycarbonate, and the device weighs 200 g, with the included brackets adding another 20 g. Without antennas, its dimensions are 84 x 82 x 26 mm; with antennas attached, it measures 193.5 x 82 x 26 mm.
