Performance & Throughput

The USW-Enterprise-48-PoE provides 160 Gbps of non‑blocking switching capacity with a forwarding rate of 238 Mpps. A 4 MB packet buffer and support for jumbo frames ensure efficient handling of large data streams, while LACP port aggregation and STP/RSTP deliver resilient, high‑bandwidth uplinks. The switch supports up to 1,000 VLANs and a 32,000‑entry MAC address table, making it suitable for dense Layer 2 and Layer 3 deployments.

Power over Ethernet

All 48 RJ45 ports deliver PoE+ (802.3af/at) with a per‑port maximum of 32 W and a total power budget of 720 W. This allows the switch to power a full complement of access points, IP cameras, VoIP phones, and other PoE‑enabled devices without additional injectors. The internal 870 W AC/DC power supply operates from 100–240 V AC, and a USP‑RPS DC input provides redundant power backup for mission‑critical continuity.

Management & Security

Full configuration and monitoring are available through the UniFi Network web application or mobile app. The 1.3″ LCM colour touchscreen, combined with the app’s AR switch scanning, simplifies on‑site identification and troubleshooting. Layer 3 capabilities include static routing (256 IPv4 routes), inter‑VLAN routing, DHCP server and relay, and virtual network override. Comprehensive security features encompass 802.1X authentication, MAC‑based ACLs and device isolation, DHCP snooping and guarding, IP‑based ACLs, storm control, port isolation, and egress rate limiting. Advanced multicast management is supported through IGMP snooping, querier, fast leave, and router port configuration, along with Pro AV profiles for Dante, Q‑SYS, NDI, SDVoE, Shure, AES67, and Crestron environments.

Physical Design & Deployment

Housed in a robust SGCC steel enclosure, the switch occupies 1U of rack space and measures 442 × 400 × 44 mm (17.4 × 15.7 × 1.7″). It weighs 6.2 kg (13.7 lb) without brackets and supports rack depths from 600 to 1,200 mm. The front‑panel LCM touchscreen and factory‑reset button enable straightforward physical management. The switch is rated for operation in ambient temperatures from ‑5 to 40 °C (23 to 104 °F) and 10–90% non‑condensing humidity, with ESD protection of ±16 kV air and ±12 kV contact.
