Performance and switching capacity
The switch delivers a switching capacity of 36 Gbps and a total non-blocking throughput of 18 Gbps, with a forwarding rate of 27 Mpps. Its MAC address table supports up to 8,000 entries and accommodates 1,000 VLANs, enabling the deployment of large segmented networks. The 0.5 MB packet buffer helps maintain traffic flow under variable loads, while jumbo frame support ensures efficient transmission of large data volumes.
Power over Ethernet and power supply
Eight of the sixteen RJ45 ports provide PoE+ power, with a maximum output of 15.4 W per port in PoE mode and 32 W per port in PoE+ mode. The total available PoE budget is 42 W, allowing multiple devices to be powered simultaneously within this limit. The switch features a built-in 60 W AC/DC power supply with a universal input of 100–240 V AC at 50/60 Hz. Maximum power consumption is 18 W without PoE output and 60 W with it, with a heat dissipation of 61.4 BTU/h.
Management and network features
Management is handled via Ethernet using the UniFi Network application, which requires version 7.2.94 or later. The switch supports port aggregation via LACP, as well as STP and RSTP for managing redundant topologies. It includes advanced IGMP features such as querier, fast leave, and router port, along with IGMP snooping to optimize multicast traffic. Virtual network functionality with virtual network override, voice VLAN, and LLDP-MED expands segmentation and voice traffic configuration options.
Security and access control
The switch implements 802.1X access control and IPv4- and MAC-based access control lists, supporting 128 lists of each type. It offers DHCP snooping and guarding, device isolation, MAC address locking, and port restriction based on MAC addresses. Port isolation, egress rate limiting, storm control, and multicast/broadcast rate limiting help restrict unwanted traffic. ESD protection reaches ±16 kV for air discharge and ±12 kV for contact discharge, while loop protection prevents network failures from unintended redundant connections.
Physical design and installation
The switch features a 1U rack-mount form factor, with dimensions of 442 x 200 x 44 mm and a chassis made of SGCC steel, matching the mounting hardware material. It weighs 2.8 kg without mounting brackets and 2.9 kg with them included. Supported rack depth ranges from 400 to 1,200 mm, accommodating both compact and deeper rack installations. It includes a 1.3" LCM touchscreen for local status display.
