Switching Performance & Throughput

The USW-Flex-3 delivers a switching capacity of 10 Gbps and a total non-blocking throughput of 5 Gbps, with a forwarding rate of 7 million packets per second. All five Gigabit Ethernet ports support 10/100/1000 Mbps speeds and can process traffic at line rate simultaneously, ensuring zero packet loss even under full load. The switch supports up to 1,000 VLANs and maintains a MAC address table of 2,000 entries, providing robust Layer 2 segmentation and efficient address learning for growing networks.

PoE Flexibility & Power Budget

Port 1 serves as the PoE input, accepting 802.3af, 802.3at, or 802.3bt power. The total PoE budget available to output ports 2–5 depends on the input source: 8W when powered by 802.3af, 20W with 802.3at, and 46W with 802.3bt or a compatible 60W PoE adapter. Each output port delivers standard 802.3af PoE (pins 1, 2+; 3, 6-) with a maximum of 15.4W per port. This flexible power architecture allows the switch to support a mix of PoE-powered devices while maintaining a maximum power consumption of just 5W for the switch itself (excluding PoE output).

Indoor/Outdoor Design & Mounting

Engineered for challenging environments, the USW-Flex-3 features a weather-resistant enclosure that operates reliably in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 65°C (25W PoE output) or -40°C to 55°C (46W PoE output) and in 5–95% noncondensing humidity. The switch weighs only 230 g (8.1 oz) and measures 122.5 x 107.1 x 28 mm (4.8 x 4.2 x 1.1"), making it easy to install on a desktop, wall, or pole. Air and contact ESD protection up to ±16kV safeguards the unit against electrostatic discharge, ensuring long-term durability in exposed locations.

Management & Network Integration

The switch is managed entirely through Ethernet in-band using the UniFi Network Controller (version 5.10.3 or later). From a single interface, administrators can provision the switch, configure port isolation, mirroring, egress rate limiting, and flow control, and enable jumbo frames. The controller provides a unified view of network topology, real-time statistics, and debugging metrics, simplifying multi-site deployments. The USW-Flex-3 is NDAA compliant and carries CE, FCC, IC, and Anatel certifications, meeting rigorous regulatory standards.
