The Ubiquiti UniFi UPS Tower 1kVA is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply with 1,000 VA / 600 W capacity for desktop use. In the event of a power failure, it switches to battery mode in typically 6 ms and a maximum of 10 ms. The simulated sine wave in battery mode maintains an output voltage of 120 V AC with ±10 % regulation accuracy. At full load, runtime in battery mode is 2 minutes, and at half load, it extends to 7 minutes. The integrated 12 V, 9 Ah sealed lead-acid battery requires 6 to 8 hours to recharge to 90 % capacity after discharge. Management & Operation The UPS is managed via Ethernet. A 100/10 MbE port is available for network connectivity, while two GbE ports provide surge protection for incoming and outgoing network connections. Front-panel status LEDs indicate operating conditions, including initialization, adoption, battery mode, firmware updates, and alerts. A separate five-level battery LED display shows charge status in 20 % increments from 0 to 100 %. Operation is controlled via two buttons: a power button and a factory reset button. Power is supplied via a fixed 1.8 m cable with a NEMA 5-15P plug for 120 V AC at 50/60 Hz and a maximum of 12 A. A total of ten NEMA 5-15R outlets are provided: five with battery backup and surge protection, and five with surge protection only. The input voltage range is 89 to 145 V AC at a nominal 120 V AC. Safety & Certifications The UPS is NDAA-compliant and designed to meet industry safety standards. In online mode, a 110 % overload triggers a fault after 5 minutes, while a 120 % overload causes an immediate fault. In battery mode, a 110 % overload shuts down the unit after 5 seconds, and a 120 % overload triggers an immediate shutdown. Short-circuit protection in online mode is ensured by a 250 V AC, 15 A circuit breaker. The maximum short-circuit current is Ipeak 334.8 A or Irms 68.2 A. The UPS is designed for operation in a controlled indoor environment with humidity levels from 0 to 95 % non-condensing.
