The D-Link DIS-100G-6S is an unmanaged Gigabit DIN-rail switch with four copper ports and two SFP slots for fiber uplinks. It suits automation networks in manufacturing and process plants as well as traffic-control and surveillance installations that need two redundant or separate fiber links back to the control room - for example in smart-city surveillance networks or outdoor wireless infrastructure spanning longer distances.

Technical Overview

As an unmanaged Layer 2 switch, the DIS-100G-6S offers a 12 Gbps switching capacity with a maximum forwarding rate of 8.928 Mpps. Its MAC address table holds up to 4,000 entries, jumbo frames are supported up to 9.6 KB, and IEEE 802.1p QoS across eight hardware queues per port keeps priority traffic moving. Diagnostic LEDs for power, SFP and link/activity make on-site status checks straightforward. The fanless metal enclosure (162 x 102 x 28 mm, 0.4458 kg) is IP40-rated and built for a -20 °C to 65 °C operating range. Redundant power through a 12 to 48 VDC terminal block and an alarm relay (1 A at 24 V) round out the feature set, and an MTBF of 569,768 hours reflects its design for long-term continuous operation.

Mounting

The DIS-100G-6S is designed for standard DIN-rail mounting, and its compact footprint fits comfortably into tight field cabinets and control panels.

Product Status Notice

The D-Link DIS-100G-6S has been discontinued by D-Link (End of Sale since 25 April 2022). According to the manufacturer, support continues until 24 April 2027. D-Link does not name an official successor for this model; for new projects we recommend the current models in the DIS-100G / DIS-210G / DIS-310G series.
