Course Content

The video-on-demand training provides comprehensive knowledge aligned with the official ECSE exam domains. The focus is on predictive Wi-Fi planning (30% of exam questions) and validation through surveys (28%). Additional modules cover channel and power levels, association and roaming behavior, media access methods (contention), as well as Wi-Fi security. The content has been expanded to include 6 GHz operation, Wi-Fi 6E, and the latest Ekahau tools such as AI Pro, Sidekick 2, and the Connect Suite.

The training deepens RF fundamentals – from sine waves through free space path loss to dB math – and explains modulation techniques (BPSK, QPSK, QAM, OFDMA) as well as MIMO technologies. You'll learn to measure wall attenuation, create channel plans across 2.4, 5, and 6 GHz, and minimize interference from CCI/ACI. Regulatory frameworks (IEEE 802.11-2024, Wi-Fi Alliance, DFS, AFC) and the role of Ekahau tools in methodology are also covered.

Exam Details

The ECSE-R-101 certification exam is conducted online as a multiple-choice test. It consists of 60 questions to be answered within 90 minutes. The exam language is English. A minimum score of 70% is required to pass. One initial exam attempt is included in the course price; each additional attempt costs $199. Upon successful completion, the validity of all currently held ECSE certificates is extended by three years.

Prerequisites & Requirements

Participants must possess an already issued ECSE certificate. Technically, only internet access is required to view the training videos and take the online exam. The self-paced format allows flexible adjustment of learning times to fit individual work schedules.
