Exam Content and Knowledge Domains

The exam covers the full spectrum of Wi-Fi planning and validation. The largest portions are dedicated to the domains Wi-Fi Predictive Design (30%) and Wi-Fi Validation Surveys (28%). Additional in-depth knowledge is tested in Contention (9%), RF Fundamentals (8%), and Wi-Fi Channels & Power Levels (5%). Further topics such as Association & Roaming, Wi-Fi Security, Modulations & Spectrum, Standards & Regulations, Ekahau Tools & Methodology, and Ekahau Reporting complete the requirements profile.

Target Audience and Prerequisites

The Recertification Exam is exclusively intended for holders of an ECSE Design certification whose validity is expiring. It serves as proof that the required professional knowledge remains up to date. No additional prerequisites apply—however, the exam assumes familiarity with the content taught in the original certification program.

Exam Format and Procedure

The format consists of a fixed number of multiple-choice questions that assess the entire ECSE Design knowledge base. Each question is assigned to one of the eleven knowledge domains, ensuring balanced evaluation across all competency areas. The license entitles one participant to take the exam once.
