Course Content and Methodology
The curriculum covers all relevant knowledge domains to build comprehensive troubleshooting skills. Content is distributed across: Ekahau Tools & Methodology (7%), Troubleshooting Tools & Methodology (20%), 802.11 Fundamentals & Operations (15%), Wi-Fi Assessment Surveys & Design (20%), Protocol Analysis (10%), WLAN Association (7%), WLAN Security (7%), WLAN Analysis (7%), and Spectrum Analysis (7%).
The course follows a proven, structured approach: First, participants learn the three steps to optimal Wi-Fi – design, validation, and health checks. Next, they deepen their troubleshooting methodology using a checklist and defined steps. Special emphasis is placed on analyzing survey data with Ekahau AI Pro, AI Pro Online, Survey, and Insights, as well as live RF analysis using the Sidekick 2. Participants learn to evaluate the three “C”s of survey analysis – Coverage, Capacity, and Channels – and perform highly accurate site surveys using various methods (Stop & Go, Continuous, Autopilot, JustGo, GPS).
In the hands-on labs, participants apply protocol analysis using Ekahau Analyzer and Sidekick 2, understand the OSI model and encapsulation, and analyze the BSS discovery process in 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz. The training is updated to the latest WLAN standards including 6 GHz deployments and teaches best practices for troubleshooting across all three frequency bands.
Certification and Accreditation
Upon successful completion of the course and passing the multiple-choice exam, participants receive the ECSE Troubleshooting Certification. This certification automatically extends all previously earned ECSE certificates by three years. The course is recognized as a BICSI-accredited curriculum and qualifies participants to earn BICSI Continuing Education Credits (CECs).
The training is offered worldwide in nine languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, Polish, Mandarin Chinese, and Hindi. A basic understanding of Ekahau tools and software is required to participate; the ECSE Design certification is strongly recommended.
Technical Requirements
For online participation, you need a computer with administrator rights to install Ekahau AI Pro, a strong internet connection, video and audio capabilities, and a physical mouse. During the course, a temporary Ekahau Connect license is provided, allowing you to use Ekahau AI Pro on your computer as well as Ekahau Survey and Analyzer on a mobile device.
