Performance and Throughput

The Huawei AP772E achieves a device throughput of 6.45 Gbps thanks to its dual-radio architecture. Radio 0 operates on the 2.4 GHz band with a 2x2 MIMO configuration and a maximum channel width of 40 MHz, while Radio 1 operates on the 5 GHz band with a 4x4 MIMO configuration and a maximum channel width of 160 MHz. The 2.4 GHz radio supports the 802.11b/g/n/ax/be standards, and the 5 GHz radio supports the 802.11a/n/ac/ac Wave 2/ax/be standards, giving the access point its Wi-Fi 7 compatibility.

Maximum transmit power reaches 28 dBm combined on 2.4 GHz and 30 dBm combined on 5 GHz. On a per-chain basis, maximum values are 25 dBm on 2.4 GHz and 24 dBm on 5 GHz. These power levels, combined with the integrated directional antennas, allow the AP772E to maintain an optimal signal distance of 250 m.

Design and Deployment

The AP772E is equipped with integrated directional antennas providing 10 dBi gain on 2.4 GHz, both per-chain and combined. On 5 GHz, per-chain gain reaches 11 dBi peak, with a combined gain of 10 dBi. This directional design focuses radio energy toward the targeted coverage area, making it suitable for outdoor deployments requiring focused range rather than omnidirectional coverage.

The access point mounts on walls or poles, with unpackaged dimensions of 220 x 250 x 77 mm and a weight of 2.76 kg. It operates in a relative humidity range of 0% to 100%, and its storage humidity ranges from 5% to 95% without condensation. The optimal signal distance of 250 m makes it ideal for outdoor point-to-point links or coverage of extended areas such as parking lots, warehouses, or campuses.

Connectivity and Power

The AP772E features a 2.5GE RJ45 port and supports a 10GE optical module (SFP+) with auto-negotiation for 100M, 1000M, 2500M, as well as GE, 2.5GE, and 10GE speeds. This backhaul flexibility allows the uplink to adapt to the capacity of the existing network, from gigabit copper to 10-gigabit fiber.

Power is supplied via PoE (802.3bt/at/af) or a DC power adapter, with a nominal input voltage of 48 V DC and an input voltage range of 43.2 V to 57.6 V DC. Maximum power consumption is 20.4 W, excluding USB. The maximum number of connected users is 1,024, with a recommended 130 users for optimal performance.
