Design and scalability
The Huawei LUNA2000-S1 battery supports modular configurations of one to three battery modules combined with one power module. With one battery module and one power module, the dimensions are 590 mm x 255 mm x 510 mm, and the weight, including the floor base, is 80 kg. Installation is standard on a floor base, with an optional wall-mount option.
The system is scalable by operating up to four battery towers in parallel. The maximum ESS capacity with three MB0 inverters in parallel reaches 252 kWh, and the system’s maximum expansion is 12 ESS. Capacity options range from 5 kWh to 21 kWh depending on the combination of LUNA2000-5-E1 and LUNA2000-7-E1 battery modules.

Performance and power
Each battery module of the Huawei LUNA2000-S1 delivers a maximum charge and discharge power of 3.5 kW. With two modules, the maximum power reaches 7 kW, and with three modules, it reaches 10.5 kW, which is also the maximum input and output power per string. The operating voltage range is 350 to 560 V in single-phase configuration and 600 to 980 V in three-phase configuration.
The usable energy of the battery varies by configuration: from 5 kWh with one LUNA2000-5-E1 module to 20.7 kWh with three LUNA2000-7-E1 modules. The system’s energy efficiency improvement exceeds 40%. Convection cooling keeps noise levels below 29 dB.

Safety and certifications
The Huawei LUNA2000-S1 battery features four cell-level temperature sensors monitoring eight cells, providing granular thermal monitoring. The system offers protection against immersion in 40 cm of water for 72 hours and pressure resistance of up to 5T. The supported operating environment is both indoor and outdoor.
The system holds relevant industry certifications, including RCM, CEC, VDE2510-50, IEC62619, IEC 60730, UN38.3, and ISO13849. The product warranty extends up to 15 years. The system is designed for operation in a wide temperature range, with a maximum altitude of 4,000 m and derating above 2,000 m. Relative humidity during operation ranges from 5% to 95%.
