Safety & Protection

The LUNA2000-21-S1 is certified with the highest safety certification from TÜV Rheinland. An intelligent fire suppression kit detects and extinguishes fires within 15 seconds. Real-time temperature management monitors each cell group with 4 sensors for 8 cells, ensuring stable operation across the entire temperature range from -20 °C to +55 °C.

The battery housing withstands pressure up to 5 tonnes and provides submersion protection down to 40 cm for 72 hours. With IP65 protection rating, the module is safeguarded against dust and water jets. The Modul+ architecture improves usable energy by over 40%.

Performance & Capacity

Each battery module of the LUNA2000-21-S1 achieves a charge and discharge power of 3.5 kW. The maximum input and output power per string is 10.5 kW, with a peak charge and discharge power of 10,000 W. The operating voltage range spans from 600 V to 980 V at a maximum operating current of 16.7 A.

The module’s nominal capacity is 21 kWh. When combined with 3 MB0 inverters in parallel operation and a total of 12 battery modules, a maximum storage capacity of 252 kWh can be achieved. The model range offers capacity options from 5 kWh to 21 kWh, expandable in 5 kWh or 7 kWh increments.

Compatibility & Installation

The LUNA2000-21-S1 is compatible with the HUAWEI SmartString ESS in the 5 kWh to 30 kWh range. Compatible inverter models include the SUN2000-3/4/5/6/8/10KTL-M1. Installation time is halved compared to conventional setups, significantly reducing on-site assembly effort.

Noise levels remain below 29 dB, enabling quiet operation even in close proximity to living areas. The maximum operating altitude is 4,000 m, with derating applied above 2,000 m. Relative humidity during operation can range from 0 %RH to 100 %RH.
