Performance & Wireless Technology

The AP One AX leverages the Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) standard and operates simultaneously on both frequency bands—2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The 4X4 MU-MIMO technology enables parallel data streams to multiple devices, boosting overall wireless network efficiency. On the 2.4 GHz band, the access point achieves data rates of up to 1148 Mbps, while on the 5 GHz band, it reaches up to 2400 Mbps. Supported channel widths of 20, 40, and 80 MHz ensure flexible adaptation to any environment.

The integrated omni-directional antenna with 5 dBi gain on both frequency bands ensures consistent signal coverage. With a transmit power of 25 dBm on both bands (2412–2472 MHz and 5180–5825 MHz), the AP One AX delivers strong and stable wireless performance. Automatic channel selection, transmit power adjustment, and neighboring AP detection optimize wireless operations automatically while reducing interference.

  • Wireless Standards: 2.4 GHz: 802.11b/g/n/ax; 5 GHz: 802.11a/n/ac/ax
  • MU-MIMO: 4X4 for simultaneous multi-client data streams
  • Channel Width: 20/40/80 MHz
  • Transmit Power: 25 dBm on 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz
  • Antenna: Integrated omni-directional antenna, 5 dBi gain (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz)
  • Ethernet: 1x 2.5 multigigabit Ethernet port

Management & Network Modes

The AP One AX can be managed through multiple methods: The web-based admin interface provides direct access to all configuration options, while InControl Cloud Management enables centralized network monitoring and cross-site configuration. Additionally, the Peplink AP Controller is available, and SNMP v1, v2c, and v3 allow integration into existing network management systems. Captive portal functionality is provided via InControl, and SSID management is also handled centrally through the cloud platform.

For network integration, the access point supports bridge mode as well as router (NAT) mode with WAN connectivity via PPPoE, static IP, or DHCP. Management VLAN, mesh functionality, Spanning Tree Protocol, and IPv6 passthrough round out the network features, enabling flexible deployment in a wide range of infrastructures.

  • Device Management: Web interface, InControl Cloud Management, Peplink AP Controller, SNMP v1/v2c/v3
  • Captive Portal: Provided via InControl
  • Network Modes: Bridge Mode, Router (NAT) Mode
  • WAN Protocols: PPPoE, Static IP, DHCP
  • VLAN: Management VLAN
  • Additional Protocols: Mesh, Spanning Tree Protocol, IPv6 Passthrough

Security & Client Control

The AP One AX offers multi-layered security features for enterprise use. At the wireless level, open networks as well as WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise are available. Per SSID, VLANs with QoS (802.1p/802.1q) can be configured, bandwidth limits enforced, and MAC address filters applied. Layer-2 client isolation prevents direct communication between devices, and the maximum number of clients per SSID can be limited.

For environments with RADIUS authentication, the access point supports per-client VLAN assignment via RADIUS as well as VLAN pools. Multicast filtering and IGMP snooping with multicast enhancement optimize traffic in networks with multicast applications.

  • Encryption: Open, WPA/WPA2/WPA3-Personal, WPA/WPA2-Enterprise
  • Per SSID: VLAN with QoS (802.1p/802.1q), bandwidth control, MAC filtering, Layer-2 isolation, client limit
  • Per Client: VLAN via RADIUS, VLAN pool, bandwidth control, multicast filtering, IGMP snooping

Design & Power Supply

The plenum-rated plastic housing is designed for indoor use. With dimensions of 205 x 205 x 32 mm and a weight of 785 grams, the AP One AX can be seamlessly integrated into existing environments. Power is supplied either via 802.3at PoE or the included 12V DC power adapter (AC input 100V–240V, DC output 12V/2.5A). Maximum power consumption is 23 watts. The operating temperature range is 0°C to 40°C.
