The Balance 5000 EC is designed for environments where network downtime is not an option. By simultaneously using multiple WAN connections – whether fiber, cable, DSL, or cellular – the patented SD-WAN technology provides automatic failover within milliseconds and dynamic load distribution. Even if individual lines fail, VoIP calls, video conferences, and cloud applications remain uninterrupted.

Comprehensive Security and VPN

A powerful stateful firewall protects the internal network from threats, while Deep Packet Inspection (DPI) identifies and controls applications based on policies. For secure remote access, built-in remote-user VPN functions and site-to-site VPN tunnels are available. DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) enhances the privacy and security of name resolution.

Intelligent Traffic Management

With Quality of Service (QoS), the router prioritizes business-critical traffic such as VoIP or ERP applications, ensuring consistent performance even under heavy load. Per-user bandwidth controls prevent individual users from monopolizing line capacity, and outbound policies allow granular routing decisions based on application, domain, or IP address.

Easy Integration and Management

Thanks to drop-in mode and LAN bypass, the Balance 5000 EC can be transparently integrated into existing networks without changing IP addresses or firewall rules. Centralized management is handled via Peplink InControl – cloud-based, intuitive, and optimized for monitoring distributed locations. LACP NIC bonding and KVM virtualization round out the enterprise functionality.
