The Peplink MAX BR1 Pro 5G (model designation BR1 Pro 5G, hardware revision HW3) is an industrial-grade 5G router from Peplink's MAX series that combines Wi-Fi 6, a 2.5 Gbps WAN port and latest-generation cellular connectivity in a compact chassis just 29.3 mm high. It is built for organizations that want to add a high-performance 5G WAN link to an existing fixed line, or to keep mobile sites connected reliably - from vehicles and branch offices through to construction sites. SpeedFusion technology lets you bond several internet connections or protect them against one another with hot failover, so business-critical applications such as video calls or point-of-sale systems stay online even when a single link drops.

  • SpeedFusion: hot failover, WAN smoothing and bandwidth bonding for uninterrupted VPN connections
  • Ruggedness: -40 °C to 65 °C operating temperature, ignition sensing, and approvals to EN 50155, EN 61373 and MIL-STD-810H
  • Management: central cloud management, GPS location tracking and fleet management via InControl 2

Deployment scenarios

The MAX BR1 Pro 5G can be placed in front of an existing firewall as a pure 5G adapter, or run as a full router for small to medium networks with up to 150 recommended users. The combination of a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, PoE input and Wi-Fi 6 makes it a flexible hub for branch offices, kiosk systems, construction sites or temporary locations. In vehicles, the power port with ignition sensing switches connected equipment on and off together with the vehicle without draining the battery - an advantage for emergency services, public transport and logistics fleets. Approvals to EN 50155, EN 61373 and MIL-STD-810H underline its suitability for harsh operating environments.

Resilience with SpeedFusion

Peplink's SpeedFusion technology bonds multiple WAN connections into one stable, encrypted tunnel. If a path fails, hot failover takes over without delay while WAN smoothing compensates for packet loss. Two SpeedFusion VPN peers are included; a PrimeCare subscription or a licence add-on raises that to as many as 20. Through InControl 2, IT teams keep central oversight of location, bandwidth usage and firmware across every device in the fleet.
