The PLANET FT-806A20/806B20 WDM Fast Ethernet Bridge Media Converters extend network reach by converting between 10/100Base-TX and 100Base-FX signals. These converters utilize Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) technology to transmit and receive data over a single strand of single-mode fiber, effectively halving cabling costs compared to traditional dual-fiber solutions. A pair of converters with complementary wavelengths (1310nm and 1550nm) enables point-to-point connections up to 15 kilometers. Ideal for network administrators, these units feature Link Fault Pass-Through (LLCF/LLR) functionality with DIP-switch controls to monitor and alert on link failures. The converters operate in compliance with IEEE 802.3 and IEEE 802.3u standards, supporting both full and half-duplex modes. They can be deployed as standalone units or installed in a 10/19" media chassis for centralized network management.
