Radio performance and coverage

The antenna covers four distinct cellular bands: 410-470 MHz, 698-960 MHz, 1710-2700 MHz and 3400-3800 MHz, enabling support for 2G, 3G, 4G LTE and 5G technologies across a cellular frequency range from 617 to 6000 MHz. The 2x2 MIMO configuration with four LTE ports allows spatial diversity reception to improve link reliability. Maximum gain reaches 6.2 dBi in the 1710-2700 MHz band, with per-port gain values of 1.5 dBi at 410-470 MHz, 2.2 dBi at 698-960 MHz and 4.8 dBi at 3400-3800 MHz. VSWR on cellular ports 1 to 4 is ≤ 2.5:1, and input impedance is 50 Ohm nominal.

The fifth element is an active GPS/GLONASS antenna offering a maximum gain of 21 dBi (±2 dBi) at frequencies 1575.42 MHz and 1600 MHz. This active antenna operates with a DC voltage of 2.7 to 3.3 V and a current of 5 to 15 mA, with a noise figure of ≤ 1.5 dB. VSWR on the GPS port (port 5) is ≤ 1.5:1, and out-of-band attenuation is at least 12 dB at f0+50 MHz and 16 dB at f0-50 MHz.

Design and connectivity

The antenna measures 253 x 128 x 144 mm and weighs 1.22 kg, with a UV-stable ASA radome in gloss white (Pantone P 179-1 C). Each cellular port is fitted with a 2-metre RTK-031 coaxial cable terminated with an SMA male connector. Coaxial cable attenuation varies by frequency: 0.350 dB/m at 400 MHz, 0.560 dB/m at 900 MHz, 0.785 dB/m at 1800 MHz, 0.910 dB/m at 2400 MHz and 1.2 dB/m at 3000 MHz. The GPS port cable has an attenuation of 0.71 dB/m at 1500 MHz.

The antenna features a grounding path and can handle a feed power of up to 10 W on the cellular ports. Maximum power on the GPS port is 50 W. The antenna is linearly polarised with an omnidirectional radiation pattern.

Environmental resistance and durability

The antenna is IP68-certified for water and dust resistance, suitable for both outdoor and indoor use. It withstands operating temperatures from -40°C to +80°C and relative humidity up to 98%. Salt resistance is validated to MIL-STD 810F/ASTM B117, and impact resistance meets IK 10. The radome has a UL 94-HB fire resistance rating. The antenna survives winds up to 220 km/h.

Permissible storage conditions range from -40°C to +80°C with 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. The antenna complies with RoHS 2011/65/EU and ISO 9001:2015 directives and carries the CE mark.

Applications and compatibility

The antenna is designed for transport and marine markets, with key applications including commercial and industrial vehicles, marine and coastal environments, and M2M and IoT systems. It supports 5G bands n1 to n101 and LTE/4G bands B1 to B106, as well as Wi-Fi 3, 4, 5 and 6 standards. The MBK-3 mounting accessory is available to simplify installation.
