Product Overview

The MIMO-3-15 combines five antennas in one housing: two cellular MIMO antennas for 2G/3G/4G, two separate dual-band Wi-Fi antennas for simultaneous 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz operation with 2x2 MIMO, and one high-performance active GPS/GLONASS antenna. The two cellular MIMO antennas cover current bands from 698 MHz to 2700 MHz, as well as emerging LTE and 5G spectrum for the CBRS bands at 450 MHz and 3.5 GHz. Its ultra-wideband performance enables use across multiple carriers and technologies, and it is ready for future cellular technologies up to 3.8 GHz. The radiation patterns of all radiating elements provide an excellent balance between omnidirectional coverage, pattern diversity, and strong signal propagation at the desired elevation.

Applications

This antenna is specifically designed for the transport and marine markets. Primary applications include commercial and industrial vehicles, maritime use, M2M, and other IoT systems that require multiple wireless technologies while remaining future-proof across a broad frequency range. Broadband and Wi-Fi distribution, automation, and telemetry for buses, utility vehicles, trucks, and public safety vehicles are key use cases, as are industrial factory automation, robotic machinery, and agricultural M2M systems. The antenna is also ideal for broadband cellular-to-Wi-Fi distribution on inland and coastal vessels, as well as for communication, telemetry, and automation in mining vehicles and machinery.

Durability and Environmental Protection

Careful mechanical design ensures robustness, corrosion resistance, and protection against water and dust. The housing is made from UV-stable ASA plastic with a UL 94-HB flammability rating. The antenna is IP 68-rated for water and dust ingress protection and withstands salt spray testing per MIL-STD 810F/ASTM B117. It offers IK 10 impact resistance and a wind survival rating of up to 220 km/h. Operation is possible in temperatures from −40 °C to +80 °C and at relative humidity levels up to 98%.

Mounting and Connections

The antenna is ground-plane independent and features an internal ground plane, making it suitable for installation on any surface. Available mounting options include spigot and surface mounting, with an optional magnetic base. The coaxial cables are 2 m long: Twin HDF 195 for LTE and Wi-Fi, and RTK-031 for GPS. All connectors are SMA (male). The input impedance is 50 ohms (nominal), and the power handling capacity is 10 W.

GPS/GLONASS Subsystem

The fifth antenna is an active GPS/GLONASS system with a maximum gain of 21 ± 2 dBi at frequencies of 1575.42 MHz and 1600 MHz, respectively. The supply voltage is 2.7–3.3 V with a current draw of 5–15 mA. The noise figure is ≤ 1.5 dB, and the VSWR is ≤ 1.5:1. A filter with out-of-band attenuation of at least 12 dB at f0+50 MHz and at least 16 dB at f0−50 MHz ensures clean reception.
