The Poynting A-OMNI-0121-01-V3 is a medium-gain omnidirectional LTE/GSM antenna covering the GSM 900, GSM 1800/UMTS, and LTE frequency bands from 690 to 2700 MHz. Designed for installers and M2M applications, it comes with a 5 m HDF-195 cable and SMA male connector.

Performance and Frequency Coverage

The antenna operates omnidirectionally across three frequency ranges: 690 to 960 MHz with a maximum gain of 1.8 dBi, 1710 to 2170 MHz with up to 6 dBi, and 2300 to 2700 MHz with up to 5 dBi. VSWR is less than 2:1 across 90% of the bands. It supports cellular technology including 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, covering a wide range of LTE/4G and 5G bands. The polarization is linear, and the radiation pattern is omnidirectional. The maximum input power is 10 W with a nominal input impedance of 50 ohms.

Design and Environmental Resistance

The housing is made of halogen-free ABS with a UL 94-HB flammability rating and IK 08 impact resistance. The IP 65 rating ensures protection against water and vandalism. Approved for outdoor and indoor use, the antenna withstands wind speeds up to 160 km/h. It is tested to MIL-STD 810F/ASTM B117 for salt spray resistance and operates at relative humidity levels up to 98%. The permissible operating temperature range is from -40 °C to +70 °C. The radome is in RAL 7047 (telegrey), with a black end cap. With dimensions of 590 mm × 80 mm × 55 mm and a weight of 0.43 kg, the antenna is easy to handle and install.

Applications

The antenna is ideal for providing rural and remote wireless services as well as M2M communication such as ATMs, financial data processing, and telemetry. It extends wireless data transmission to areas with weak signals and can increase connectivity range by a factor of 3 or more. In cases of poor data signal reception, slow data transfers, or unstable connections, it enhances system transmission reliability. Its versatile base station capabilities make it a popular choice among installers.

Scope of Delivery and Mounting

The antenna is supplied with a 5 m HDF-195 coaxial cable and an SMA male connector. The cable has an attenuation of 0.385 dB/m at 900 MHz, 0.565 dB/m at 1800 MHz, and 0.666 dB/m at 2400 MHz. A DC short circuit is included. Mounting is possible on a mast or on a wall using an L-bracket. The configuration is SISO with one LTE port.
