Overview

The OMNI-280 antenna provides a solution for enhancing 4G, 3G, and 2G network signals in a single, single-polarized broadband antenna. It is backward compatible with 2G and 3G technologies, making it suitable for legacy networks that have not yet migrated to LTE. The antenna improves signal reliability, increases data throughput, and delivers a stable, high-quality connection. It is ideal for all applications using the GSM network, including LTE, HSPA, 3G, EDGE, and GPRS.

Performance & Coverage

The antenna covers the frequency ranges 698 to 960 MHz, 1710 to 2700 MHz, and 3400 to 3800 MHz, achieving an average gain of 4 dBi across the entire frequency range. Its omnidirectional radiation pattern ensures all-round coverage without requiring alignment to a specific transmission tower. This enhances system transmission reliability and improves user experience in areas with fluctuating signal quality. The antenna is designated 5G-ready and additionally supports the IoT frequency range from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz.

Design & Mounting

The antenna is designed for mounting on masts, walls, or via magnetic or hook-and-loop fasteners, allowing it to adapt to various installation environments. It is lightweight and housed in a white ABS radome (halogen-free). The housing is rated UL 94-HB and achieves an impact resistance of IK 08. The antenna includes a 2-meter RG-58 cable with an SMA male connector.

Environmental & Weather Resistance

The antenna is protected against water and dust ingress with an IP65 rating and is suitable for indoor and outdoor use. It withstands salt spray testing according to MIL-STD 810F and ASTM B117 and is designed for operating temperatures from -40 °C to +70 °C. Relative humidity during operation can reach up to 98%. The wind survival rating is less than 120 km/h, supporting permanent installation in exposed locations.

Applications

The antenna is ideal for M2M applications where machines and measuring devices are connected for real-time monitoring and data transmission, such as in telematics. Other use cases include remote reading of electricity and water meters, monitoring of cameras and security devices, and point-of-sale equipment in retail. Additionally, it enhances connection quality in areas with poor data signal reception, both indoors and outdoors.
