The Poynting PUCK-5 is a 5-in-1 multi-frequency vehicle antenna that combines 2X2 MIMO LTE, 2X2 MIMO dual-band Wi-Fi, and GPS/GLONASS in a single compact housing. It covers the 617–4200 MHz range for cellular connections and is designed for IoT/M2M, transport, and marine applications.

Performance & Frequency Coverage

The two cellular MIMO antennas support 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G, covering the frequency range from 617 to 4200 MHz. This range includes the most widely used international LTE bands as well as the 3.5 GHz CBRS band. The antenna delivers an LTE gain of 6 dBi and is designed so that both LTE ports can be connected to the router to ensure optimal performance.

Despite its small size, the antenna offers excellent performance, particularly in the higher frequency bands that are critical for LTE throughput and connection stability. The radiation patterns of all radiating elements provide an outstanding balance between omnidirectional coverage, pattern diversity, and strong radiation characteristics at the desired elevation.

Wi-Fi & GPS

The antenna features two separate dual-band Wi-Fi antennas that simultaneously cover the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands. They support the 802.11n and 802.11ac/ax standards with 2X2 MIMO, achieving a gain of 7.5 dBi across the 2400 to 7200 MHz frequency range.

The fifth antenna is a high-performance active GPS/GLONASS system with a gain of 21 dBi, ensuring reliable operation even at temperatures as low as -40°C.

Design & Installation

The antenna housing is UV-stable and fire-resistant. Performance remains consistent with or without a ground plane. The antenna offers multiple mounting options, including stud mounting, magnetic mounting, adhesive tape mounting, and bracket mounting.

With an IP69K rating, the antenna is waterproof and vandal-resistant. Its compact dimensions of 100 mm in diameter and 36 mm in height allow for discreet installation on vehicles.

Applications

The antenna is ideal for use in IoT/M2M applications, smart meters, smart utilities, transportation, maritime, and agriculture. Specific use cases include smart electricity, gas, and water metering, building automation, digital signage, warehouse and logistics systems, and industrial factory automation.

In the transportation sector, the antenna is deployed on buses, utility vehicles, and in public safety applications. Additional use cases include mining vehicles and machinery, agricultural equipment, as well as small boats and yachts in coastal or inland waters.
