Technology and Performance

The XPOL-2 V3 is the third generation of Poynting’s cross-polarized cellular MIMO antenna. While the housing remains identical to the V2, the internal design has been completely reengineered. Poynting employs advanced metamaterial technology, including artificial magnetic conductors (AMC) and a new radiator configuration, which proves exceptionally effective in expanding bandwidth and boosting gain. The radiation patterns are exceptionally well-controlled, further enhancing antenna performance.

Compared to the V2, gain in the 1700 MHz and 2.7 GHz bands is approximately 2–3 dB higher. The antenna covers the newer 3400–3800 MHz bands, which the V2 did not support, and is compatible with 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G. It operates across the frequency ranges 698–960 MHz, 1700–2170 MHz, 2300–2700 MHz, and 3400–3800 MHz with consistent broadband performance and high pattern consistency across all bands for 4G/5G carrier aggregation.

Design and Mounting

The antenna is designed for wall or pole mounting and is suitable for both urban and rural environments. The IP65 housing is weatherproof, dustproof, vandal-resistant, and fireproof. Its operating temperature range spans from −40 °C to +70 °C, and it can withstand winds of up to 120 km/h. Two cross-polarized antennas are housed in a single lightweight enclosure, simplifying installation while providing MIMO capability.

The XPOL-2 V3 is ideal for outdoor fixed wireless access as well as LTE and 5G internet connections in consumer, industrial, and commercial settings. It enhances reception in homes across urban and rural areas and supports LTE/5G data distribution in agriculture. It also covers telemetry access for utilities such as power, energy, and water, as well as communication systems in the oil and gas industry, along with municipal and government systems. The antenna can be used with repeaters and amplifiers to improve coverage. Since it operates across a wide frequency range, no antenna replacement is needed when switching network providers.
