Connectivity and Location Tracking

The FMB230 communicates via quad-band 2G (GSM/GPRS) on the 850, 900, 1800, and 1900 MHz frequency bands with GPRS Multi-Slot Class 12 (up to 240 kbps) and supports SMS for text and data transmission. Location tracking is performed via built-in high-gain antennas with support for GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, QZSS, and AGPS across 33 tracking channels. Tracking sensitivity is -165 dBm, positioning accuracy is < 2.5 CEP, and speed accuracy is < 0.1 m/s (within +/- 15% error). Hot start takes < 1 s, warm start < 25 s, and cold start < 35 s.

Interfaces and Vehicle Integration

The tracker features 3 digital inputs, 1 negative input, 2 pulse inputs, 3 digital outputs, 2 analog inputs, 1 CAN adapter input, and 1 1-Wire interface. Via Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, it can connect to a temperature and humidity sensor, OBDII dongle, Inateck barcode scanner, and universal BLE sensors. Fuel monitoring supports LLS (Analog), LV-CAN200, ALL-CAN300, CAN-CONTROL, and the OBDII dongle. Ignition detection is achieved via digital input 1, the accelerometer, external supply voltage, or engine RPM via CAN adapter and OBDII dongle.

Power Supply and Energy Management

The input voltage range is 10 to 30 V DC with overvoltage protection, secured by an internal 3 A fuse at 125 V. An integrated 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery (3.7 V, 0.63 Wh) enables operation without an external power supply. Four sleep modes—GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep—reduce power consumption at 12 V to values from < 18.5 mA to < 2.5 mA. Nominal power consumption without load is < 34 mA.

Configuration and Management

Configuration and firmware updates are performed via FOTA Web, FOTA, the Teltonika Configurator (USB, Bluetooth), or the FMBT mobile app. SMS commands are available for configuration, events, DOUT control, and debugging, while GPRS commands support configuration, DOUT control, and debugging. Time synchronization is handled via GNSS, NITZ, or NTP.
