Purpose and capabilities

The Teltonika FMB122 GPS tracker is a specialized device for tracking light vehicles, equipped with an internal GSM antenna and a high-gain external GNSS antenna. The device features a Bluetooth module, backup battery, and an extended set of inputs and outputs for remote monitoring and control.

The tracker supports fuel consumption monitoring via LLS (analog), LV-CAN200, ALL-CAN300, CAN-CONTROL, and OBDII adapter. Ignition detection is performed via digital input 1, accelerometer, external power voltage, and engine RPM through CAN adapters or OBDII adapter.

Navigation and positioning

The tracker supports satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, SBAS, QZSS, DGPS, and AGPS via a 33-channel receiver with a tracking sensitivity of −165 dBm. Positioning accuracy is less than 2.5 CEP, and speed measurement accuracy is less than 0.1 m/s with an error margin of ±15%.

Hot start time is less than 1 second, warm start less than 25 seconds, and cold start less than 35 seconds. Time synchronization is performed via GNSS, NITZ, and NTP.

Interfaces and connectivity

The device features three digital inputs, two digital outputs, two analog inputs, one CAN adapter input, and one 1-Wire interface. Connection to a PC is made via a USB 2.0 Micro-USB port, and status indication is provided by two LEDs.

Bluetooth 4.0 + LE supports connection of temperature and humidity sensors, headsets, OBDII adapter, Inateck barcode scanner, and universal BLE sensors. The device’s internal memory is 128 MB of flash storage.

Power supply and energy consumption

The tracker operates within an input voltage range of 10–30 V DC with overvoltage protection and is equipped with a 170 mAh lithium-ion backup battery (3.7 V, 0.63 Wh). At 12 V, power consumption is less than 6 mA in Ultra Deep Sleep mode, less than 8 mA in Deep Sleep mode, less than 11 mA in Online Deep Sleep mode, less than 19 mA in GPS Sleep mode, and less than 34 mA in nominal no-load mode.

Four sleep modes are available: GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep. Operating temperature without the battery ranges from −40 °C to +85 °C, operating humidity from 5% to 95% without condensation, and the protection rating is IP41.

Configuration and management

Tracker configuration and firmware updates are performed via FOTA Web, FOTA, Teltonika Configurator (USB, Bluetooth), and the FMBT mobile app. Management is also available via SMS commands for configuration, events, DOUT control, and debugging, as well as GPRS commands for configuration, DOUT control, and debugging.

Applications

The FMB122 tracker is designed for tracking light vehicles and is suitable for logistics, delivery services, municipal transport, and other tasks. The device is particularly effective for refrigerated transport thanks to its extended set of inputs and outputs and 1-Wire interface for temperature monitoring.
