Connectivity and Satellite Tracking

The FMC230 supports LTE Cat 1 with up to 10 Mbps downlink and 5 Mbps uplink (FDD), as well as 2G (GSM/GPRS) fallback with speeds up to 85.6 Kbps. The device is available in two hardware variants covering different LTE frequency bands: the FMC230-MBIB0 variant supports LTE FDD B1/B3/B7/B8/B20/B28 and LTE-TDD B38/B40/B41, while the FMC230-MCIB0 variant supports LTE FDD B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/B7/B8/B20/B28 and LTE-TDD B40. Both variants support 2G bands B2/B3/B5/B8. Data transmission is possible via SMS as text or data.

For satellite tracking, the FMC230 receives GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, QZSS, and AGPS via 33 reception channels. Tracking sensitivity is -165 dBm, positioning accuracy is less than 2.5 CEP, and speed accuracy is less than 0.1 m/s within ±15% error. Hot start takes less than one second, warm start less than 25 seconds, and cold start less than 35 seconds.

Inputs, Outputs, and Peripherals

The FMC230 offers three digital inputs, two analog inputs, one negative input (on Digital Input 2), and two pulse inputs (on Digital Input 1 and 2). It also features three digital outputs, a CAN adapter input, and a 1-Wire interface. The inputs are configurable and adaptable to various application scenarios.

Via Bluetooth 4.0 + LE, peripheral devices can be connected, including temperature and humidity sensors, an OBDII dongle, the Inateck barcode scanner, and universal BLE sensors. Wired connectivity includes USB 2.0 Micro-USB and two status LEDs to indicate operational status.

Power Supply and Energy Consumption

The FMC230 operates with an input voltage of 10 to 30 V DC and includes overvoltage protection and an internal 3 A fuse at 125 V. An integrated backup battery with 170 mAh (Li-Ion, 3.7 V, 0.63 Wh) is included. Internal flash memory is 128 MB.

Multiple sleep modes reduce power consumption at 12 V: Ultra Deep Sleep consumes less than 3 mA, Deep Sleep less than 5 mA, Online Deep Sleep less than 16 mA, and GPS Sleep less than 18 mA. Nominal current consumption without load is less than 33 mA, with a maximum peak of less than 2 A under full load.

Environmental Conditions and Certifications

The FMC230 is IP67 certified. Without the battery, the operating temperature range is -20 °C to +85 °C; with the battery, it is -20 °C to +40 °C. Relative humidity during operation ranges from 5% to 95%, non-condensing. The battery can be charged between 0 °C and +45 °C and discharged between -20 °C and +60 °C.

The device holds certifications including CE-RED, E-mark, RCM, Anatel, Reach, and RoHS. The warranty period is 24 months.
