Connectivity and Data Transmission

The FMM800 communicates via LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT with fallback to GSM/GPRS. Maximum data rates in LTE Cat M1 mode reach up to 588 Kbps in the downlink and up to 1119 Kbps in the uplink. In GSM GPRS mode, speeds of up to 107 Kbps downlink and 85.6 Kbps uplink are achieved. In addition to SMS in TEXT and PDU format, the device supports the network protocols TCP, UDP, TLS, and MQTT.

The device covers a wide range of LTE-FDD bands, including B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B12, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B26, B27, B28, B66, and B85 for Cat M1, as well as B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B8, B12, B13, B18, B19, B20, B25, B28, B66, B71, and B85 for Cat NB2. In the 2G range, the GSM bands B2, B3, B5, and B8 are supported.

GNSS Positioning

The integrated 33-channel receiver with a tracking sensitivity of -165 dBm supports the satellite systems GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, and QZSS, as well as AGPS. Positioning accuracy is less than 2.5 m CEP, with speed accuracy of less than 0.1 m/s within a ±15 % margin of error. Hot start takes less than 1 second, warm start less than 25 seconds, and cold start less than 35 seconds.

Time synchronisation is performed via GNSS, NITZ, or NTP. Both the GNSS antenna and the GSM antenna are designed as internal high-gain antennas.

Power Supply and Housing

The FMM800 operates with an input voltage of 10 to 30 V DC and features overvoltage protection as well as an internal 3 A fuse at 125 V. An integrated 170 mAh Li-Ion backup battery with 3.7 V and 0.63 Wh ensures continued operation during power loss. The device measures 67.2 × 49.6 × 25 mm and weighs 63 g.

The IP41 protection rating guards against solid foreign objects larger than 1 mm. The permissible operating temperature range without the battery is -40 °C to +85 °C, with the same range applying for storage. Relative humidity during operation can range from 5 % to 95 % non-condensing.

Configuration and Management

Configuration and firmware updates are performed via FOTA Web, FOTA, or the Teltonika Configurator via USB or Bluetooth. SMS is available for configuration, events, and debugging, while GPRS commands support configuration and debugging. The FMM800 supports sleep modes including GPS Sleep, Online Deep Sleep, Deep Sleep, and Ultra Deep Sleep.

Ignition detection is handled via the accelerometer and external supply voltage. Two status LEDs indicate the operating state. The internal flash memory is 128 MB, and a micro-SIM card is used.

Sensors and Peripherals

A built-in accelerometer captures vehicle movement data and assists with ignition detection. Bluetooth 4.0 + LE enables connection to a temperature and humidity sensor, the Inateck barcode scanner, and universal Bluetooth LE sensors. Firmware and configuration updates can also be performed wirelessly via the Bluetooth connection.
