Connectivity & Performance

The RUTX10 combines dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi 5 with MU-MIMO, reaching wireless data rates of up to 867 Mbit/s, complemented by Bluetooth 4.0 LE for short-range communication. A quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor at 717 MHz, supported by 256 MB DDR3 RAM and 256 MB SPI flash, handles simultaneous wireless and wired traffic. Four Gigabit RJ45 ports operate at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s with Auto-MDI/MDIX crossover; one port can be configured as WAN, while three serve as dedicated LAN ports. The router supports both access point and station modes for wireless, offers an ESSID stealth mode, a captive portal with a customizable landing page, and support for internal or external RADIUS servers.

Security & VPN

The RUTX10 secures data in transit with eight VPN protocols: OpenVPN, IPsec, GRE, PPTP, L2TP, DMVPN, SSTP, and Stunnel. OpenVPN supports multiple simultaneous clients and servers with 12 encryption methods, while IPsec offers IKEv1 and IKEv2 with five encryption methods (DES, 3DES, AES128, AES192, and AES256). A preconfigured firewall – freely extensible via CLI – provides DMZ, NAT, and NAT-T functions. Attack protection includes DDoS SYN flood protection, prevention against SSH and HTTP/HTTPS attacks, as well as port scan detection for SYN-FIN, SYN-RST, X-mas, NULL flag, and FIN scan patterns. WLAN security includes WPA2-Enterprise PEAP, WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, and WEP with AES-CCMP, TKIP, and Auto Cipher modes, as well as client isolation.

Industrial Design & Power Supply

The RUTX10 is housed in a full-aluminum IP30 enclosure and operates in a temperature range of -40°C to 75°C at 10 % to 90 % non-condensing humidity. It accepts an input voltage of 9–50 VDC with reverse polarity protection as well as overvoltage and transient protection, and can alternatively be powered via a LAN port using passive PoE, which is not compatible with the IEEE 802.3af or 802.3at standards. Maximum power consumption is 9 W. The included power supply draws 0,6 A at 100–240 VAC and outputs 12 VDC at 1,5 A via a 4-pin connector. Mounting options include DIN rail – mountable on either side – as well as placement on a flat surface.

Management & Integration

The RUTX10 runs RutOS, a Linux-based operating system built on OpenWrt, and supports development in Busybox shell, Lua, C, and C++ with a provided SDK package and build environment. Firmware updates preserve the current configuration, so settings are not lost during upgrades. The router can be integrated into industrial control systems via Modbus TCP master and slave support, with the master supporting an ID range of 1–255 and Modbus functions 01–06, 15, and 16 in 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit data formats. One digital input and one digital output are available via a 4-pin power connector, with event notifications by SMS, email, and RMS. Network backup and failover are implemented via VRRP as well as wired or WLAN WAN options, each of which can be used as automatic failover. Connection monitoring includes Ping Reboot, Wget Reboot, Periodic Reboot, as well as LCP and ICMP link checking. The router is compatible with the Teltonika Remote Management System (RMS) and supports SNMP, MQTT, and SSH for remote access.
