Connectivity and Location Tracking

The TAT240 communicates via 4G LTE Cat 1 with up to 10 Mbps downlink and up to 5 Mbps uplink, falling back to 3G/2G as needed. The GSM module supports bands B2, B3, B5, and B8, while the LTE-FDD range covers B1, B3, B5, B7, B8, B20, and B28. The radio module uses a Quectel EG915U-EU with Teltonika TM2500. Data transmission is handled via SMS in text format as well as network protocols TCP, UDP, TLS, EGTS, and MQTT.

Satellite positioning utilizes GPS, GLONASS, GALILEO, BEIDOU, as well as SBAS, QZSS, DGPS, and AGPS. The receiver features 33 tracking channels and 99 acquisition channels with a tracking sensitivity of −165 dBm. Positional accuracy is less than 2.5 m CEP. Both the GNSS and cellular antennas are internal high-gain antennas.

Tracking Modes and Event Control

The tracker operates on a motion-based system, reducing unnecessary event data records when stationary while increasing relevant data records during movement. Motion events are sent with the last known coordinates without forcing a new GNSS fix. An integrated accelerometer detects movement. A weekly scheduler allows tracking assets only during high-risk theft periods, such as working hours or weekends.

Power Supply and Mounting

The device is powered by a non-rechargeable Li-SOCl₂ battery with 2200 mAh, 7.2 V, and extremely low self-discharge. Battery discharge is specified for temperatures ranging from −60 °C to +85 °C. The magnetic mount is made of PC + ABS with a UL94V-0 flammability rating and includes four neodymium magnets (20 × 7 mm) with a minimum holding force of 11 kg. The mount is designed for operating temperatures from −40 °C to +80 °C.

Configuration and Management

Configuration is performed via FOTA Web, the Teltonika Configurator (USB), or SMS. GPRS commands are also available for configuration and debugging. Time synchronization is handled via GNSS, NITZ, or NTP. A single customizable sleep mode reduces power consumption when stationary. The device features 128 MB of internal flash memory and indicates status via an LED.

The TAT240 holds CE/RED, E-Mark, RCM, and UKCA certifications. The operating temperature with the battery ranges from −35 °C to +75 °C, while the storage temperature spans −40 °C to +85 °C, with a recommended maximum of 30 °C. Relative humidity during operation is 5 % to 95 %, non-condensing. The tracker measures 78 × 63 × 28 mm and weighs 115 g including the two-cell battery.
